I just wanted to post this if anyone is a coffee lover like myself~I have kept off Starbucks since my surgery because of all the high calories/sugar etc.~well then when someone told me they had a skinny latte that was sugar free I had to try it. I dumped immediately. I went to their nutrition boards and the tall has 90 cals. 12 sugars 9 proteins(that's for the caramel flavor thats to be sugar free),then the grande is 130 cals,17 sugars and 12 protein, the Venti has 160 cals. 22 sugars and 15 protein while the short(jnever seen that one) has 60 cals. 8 grams of sugar and 6 of protein. SO be careful when you see SUGAR-FREE~it usually isn't. So I'll be sticking with my decaf. from home with my Splenda flavors and my sugar free syrup!

I think the syrup is sugar-free, but latte is made with milk. Each cup of nonfat milk contains 6g of sugars.

Maybe the sugar shown on their site reflects sugars naturally found in milk products?

True~but I think they need to list that it really isn't totally sugar-free becasue they are advertising it as it is~

Are you nuts?  There's no sugar added to it.  For all intents and purposes, that's "sugar free."  Milk has sugars in it.  It's MILK.  Lattes are made with MILK.  If you seriously thought that they'd come up with some kind of sugar free MILK... I don't even know what to say to you.  What a stupid thing to waste time complaining about.

I think they advertise it as "skinny" as in fat-free, and that the syrup itself is sugar free, don't they? I could be wrong, but I know when I'm ordering something containing milk that it will naturally contain some sugars.

I guess they should label them "no sugar added" rather than sugar free.  Someone will probably sue Starbuck's, claiming it's false advertising ... The lawyers will get millions, and each individual will get 25 cents off of a cup of coffee (LOL).

You bring up a good point:  Pay attention to details!

The syrup is SF, NO milk is Carb/Sugar/Lactose free. Well unless your buy Lactaid or Soy milk...but then if the soy milk isn't light it's high in sugar.... I think the advertising is fine. I've been dringing them forever and by the syrup and make them at home. I've always known the sugars are coming from the milk. Latte's are mostly milk.  Hugs, Lisa

The number of grams of lactose in each size of Skinny Latte seems to reflect the ordinary amount of lactose found in milk.  My NUT said that with dairy, we could have 15g of sugars per serving. Which is not to say that we're guaranteed not to dump from this!  But I haven't had any problems with protein drinks (e.g., SF CIB or Unjury powder mixed with skin milk) containing equivalent amounts of lactose.  I haven't tried the SB's Skiiny Latte's yet, though! "No Sugar Added" must take longer to say than "Sugar Free".  Every second counts when you're ordering from the barista! /Steve

They specifically market them as "skinny lattes" for this reason.  A skinny latte includes skim milk and sugar-free syrup.   I do not believe any of their official marketing materials call them sugar-free lattes.  You have to be careful with what their individual counter people say . . .
