Does anyone know if it is okay to swallow chewable vitamins instead of chewing them up?  I bought some chewable multi-vitamins pre-op because I thought  I wouldn't be able to swallow them.  Since I'm not having any problems, can I just swallow them with the rest of my supplements instead of having to chew them up?  Thanks!

chewables and liquid vitamins seems to get into our blood steam faster... just swallowing vitamins will take alittle longer for us to absorb the vitamins....

Chewable vitamins are usually bigger than not chewable. The one I take I would be afraid to swallow beacuse I would be worried that they would get "stuck".  Best ask your doctor.  The vit may resond differntly to acids in your stomach than to the saliva.

I would not recommend swallowing them.  we are not allowed to swallow any pills bigger than an M&M.  The chewables that I have are deffinately bigger then that.  There is a good flavour of orange centrum vitamins that are chewable at walmart and they are very cheap.  they are only $5.96 for a bottle of 100. sandy

It's fine to swallow them, per my doctor's orders.  In fact, he said they are designed to dissolve much more quickly than regular vitamins.  I've been swallowing mine (or sometimes I just crunch into it then swallow) for over six months now and all is fine. Linda
