What did you do with your too big clothes?

I was wondering what everyone did with their clothes that were too big? What would be the most profitable way to get rid of them. I would like to get some kinda money for them since I desperately need to replace them.Been living on one pair of jeans and one pair of capri's. They are all seriously good stuff(ranging from designer office wear to regular Lane Bryant casuals) & I was thinking of a yard sale but then most people want to pay less than a dollar for stuff at yard sales. The consignment stores say they take 60%.I have never used them before. So I am not sure how viable that is. My other option is E-bay or craigslist.

Just curious as to what everyone else's experience was???

I gave mine away, but I would suggest e-bay for the best price for yourself.  I know that Divataunia on You Tube has several auctions going for some top of the line type clothing and I believe she is doing very well with her auctions there.

I took most of my clothes and donated them to a women's shelter, as many women leave with the clothes on their backs.  It's not easy to find decent second hand, plus-size clothing.  One woman gave me a hug, and that was a very nice moment.

I LOVE that idea!  I used to volunteer at a woman's shelter.  There were times when they had to transfer to another shelter in a hurry so they didn't have time to pack but a couple of things from there either.

What a wonderful thing to do.  Now I think I am going to raid my closet and see if I can find one in my area!  I'm so excited!!!

Most folks here will pay the shipping........ The best way to actually make some money is through Ebay or Craigslist...or Consignment.  You could place an ad in your local paper and probably get the best profit that way.  What size do you have to sell??????
I wish you ALL the best!!!!

Work like you don't need the money......

I see people selling their clothes online on places like craigs list.  You might be more likely to get more for them that way than by having a garage sale.  Consignment shops might work too, or eBay maybe?  I would do Craig's list myself.

Here is what I am going to do...I am going to box my clothes by types (ie. work, casual, etc..) and sell the box as is for one price. ..I did this with baby clothes..it gives the person a good deal, you get rid of a bulk of clothes and it beats having a garage sale or sending them to consignment (which I made very little money).
I have a box filled with sweaters that I am going to post on my works website ..I am going to put $75 for the whole box (whi*****ludes about 20 sweaters)....I think its worth it !!!
I work part time in a woman's clothing store (Christopher & Banks) mid-scale clothing...I get them at a great discount..so anyone buying my clothes are getting good quality for literally a fraction of the price. And in turn I can take the $$ I make and buy new (with my discount !)

I'm doing that as we speak...

I'm taking a few to a consignment shop, and the rest to Goodwill.  I hadn't even thought about the Women's Shelter... what a fantastic idea!  Therefore, i'll more than likely take a lot down there.

With my experience on Ebay... yes, you can make some money, but you also have to wait for payment, pack it all up and get it shipped out.  I think the last round of Ebay stuff i cleared maybe $20, which is fine, don't get me wrong.. but right now it's not worth all the time i put into it.

When i first started cleaning out, i had a couple of friends come pick out anything they wanted.  They were so grateful!
