Do you tell people how much weight you've lost?

I know people will continue to ask how much weight I've lost so far.  I am willing to tell them up to 100 pounds, but after that I'm not sure.  My goal is to lose 220 pounds.  They can figure out that means I initially started getting close to 400 pounds.  I'm so ashamed of that.  Soif people ask how much you've lost (or how much total you want to lose), do you tell people?  If not, how do you tactfully tell them it's none of their business?  The only response I can come up with is "I've lost a lot but I have a ways to go yet.  My goal is to be healthy."  I would appreciate any input anybody can give.

i tell people that i began my journey at 254 pounds and i currently weigh xxx so that means that i've lost xxx pounds (xxx = whatever the number happens to be for that day.)

i'm extremely proud of myself and of my ability to overcome my weight challenge so i have no problem sharing my numbers. and maybe, when you get to goal you'll feel differently about how and what you want to share with people. (i know it's a lot harder to share those sorts of things when you're still on your journey but it gets easier the closer you get to goal, i promise )

yes I tell anyone and everyone  because they can see i have lost and I am proud of it.  Some of my friends didn't know I was going to do it and I didn't want them thinking I was sick.

I am very open with anyone who asks, I even tell them I started out at 282.  I actually brag more about the size of clothing I wear.  One of my co-workers says to me all the time you are almost my weight I better get busy and start trying to loose a few pounds, we both laugh about it I look at her as the perfect size yet I do not see myself as the perfect size, funny how our minds work huh?  I think that with time it gets easier to talk about us and our journey.

Actually, I was going to have it tattooed on my arm, but it keeps changing.  Seriously, I tell anyone who asks -- including my ex husband's wife.  That felt weird, but who cares.  I have worked hard for every ounce.

I tell them, but if you can admit to 100 lbs, the good answer would be now and in the future:

"I lost over 100lbs !!!" You do not have to tell how much over... And if someone asks - pretend you are not sure 20? 30?  tell them you will have to check....or just smile... and walk away... makes them wonder...

I too started out at more than 400 lbs - 427 lbs to be exact and as of today I have lost 190 lbs! I'm very proud of myself and tell anyone and everyone who will listen!!!

I think that as you get closer to goal you will feel more confident and not mind telling anyone!

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far! Keep up the good work.

I just went back to work and was thinking about what to tell people that I didn't want to know about my weight loss and my answer will be 'I'm on schedule with my weight loss' but I do tell me family and close friends what my loss is and where I want to be.

No, I don't tell them 'cause I'm embarassed too.  I just tell them I haven't lost enough yet and I'm still trying to lose.
