can an RNY BE CONVERTED TO A SLEEVE
There are surgeons who will perform revisions from the RNY to the DS.
RNY to VSG wouldn't be very effective, since you would be giving up what little malabsorptive component there is to the RNY, as the VSG has none.
The DS is the VSG plus a more distal bypass than the RNY, so patients who have regained with the RNY often have good results with revision to DS.

I'm not sure why you would want to revise from a restrictive and malabsorptive procedure to a restrictive only procedure that actually gives you a larger stomach than the RNY pouch. For a failed RNY, options that make more sense would be RNY to DS, RNY to distal RNY (if the stomach/pylorus can't be all put back together for some reason), or checking to see if the pouch has stretched too much and correcting just that (I know there's a name for this, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment). I think I've even seen mention of putting a lap band around an old RNY pouch (not that I'm recommending that, just saying I've seen it mentioned).
I wish I could trade my sleeve for a pouch .. or put a band around it, sometimes ..
(my surgeon refuses to do either, btw, out of concerns for protein deficiency)

From my understanding, you're not much for following the recommended DS rules. No surgery will work as well as it could if you're not compliant.
If you mean me, JB, I've been fairly compliant of late .. but still my weight will not permanently stay below about 10 lbs. above my lowest weight . DS is like all WLS -- YMMV .. Some patients abuse it like heck and get to goal weightj nevertheless .. Others do everything 'right" and still don't reach it .. I'd say I fall somewhere in the middle of the crowd ..
