Hi everyone, I'm wondering if any of the Post Ops are experiencing what I am since surgery. I live in the Northeast in Ct., and I used to feel warm or hot all the time, I would sleep in the winter with my ceiling fan on. Never wore a robe in the morning or slippers. Had the air conditioning on full blast in the summer. My daughter used to freeze in the summer, she would sleep with 2 comforters on because I had the ac going. Well now things have changed, I am COLD!!!! Ok I know right now it is pretty freezing up here, but I cant take it AT ALL. I'm dressed up like I live in Antartica!! I'm sleeping with big wool socks on, wearing big woolly scarves, layers and layers of clothes when I am outside and definetly no more ceiling fan on!!! I havent experienced this before the surgery, not even in past years when I weighed less than I do now. Whats up with this??? Deb

Hay, Deb- Your insulation's gone, that's what's up!!!!! I think most post-ops are in the freeze mode. I know I am. Luckily, I live in northern Florida, so I'm not NEARLY as cold as you. I sleep in flannel pj's, under a down comforter (my husband sleeps under the sheet only). I wear long sleeves/sweaters and always have a jacket along. I was told that our organs have lost the insulation(fat) around them, so we're naturally colder. Don't know if that's the reason or not. I definitely like not sweating all the time now. My makeup sweated off daily before WLS. Good luck to you and STAY WARM!!! Lisa-108

Deb - I am 6 weeks post op and am exactly the same way. My internal thermometer is completely reset. I don't sweat anymore and I am just getting started in this journey. I am freezing all the time have the waterbed turned up to 90 degrees. I am wondering if I will be like this for the rest of my life or if my body will adj. Gina 12/15/03 -35lbs

Yes..me too. I'm cold all the time now. I use to turn off the heat in the bedroom in the winter time because I couldn't stand the heat.I was always so hot..Now...I can't warm up no matter what..especially after I drink my protein shakes..I'm freezing..And by the way, I live in the cold state also...doesn't help does it...My heat bills are sky high, especially since I'm putting the temp up higher than ever before just to try to warm up...UGH...will is EVER warm up here??? Yes, I can relate. I used to sleep with a fan during winter (and the air conditioner AND two fans in the summer). So far, it is way too cold for me to use the fan, and I have been needing hubbie to snuggle a lot closer all night to keep warm. I guess being cold has its perks.
