skinny clueless coworker

I have a coworker that is skinny and has always been skinny.  She started telling a story about a fat lady at the pool that had "no business" wearing the swimsuit she had on because she was so heavy.  this coworker dosent know that i've had the surgery.  After listing to her go on and on i finally couldn't take it anymore.  I told her it was because of people like her that people like me hesitate to go to the pool.  I told her i took my kids to the pool when i was 115 pds heavier despite the fact that me and everyone there knew that i was fat.  I took  my kids to the pool because i wanted to spend time with them.  She argued that the lady should have worn a suit with more coverage.  I told her that when your heavy it dosent matter how big your suit and cover up are you still feel heavy.  anyways, she appologized to me and said she didn't mean to hurt my feelings.  I told her she should say a pray for the heavy lady and try to befriend her next time instead of making fun of her.  maybe i can change the world one person at a time. ...... hahha

Good for you!!  I hate it when people have nothing better to do than make fun of others. Glad that you spoke up..

i get really offended by fat wank.  look, for whatever reason a person is large it doesn't mean that they should automatically be barred from wearing a bathing suit or shorts or a top that is comfortable.  for heaven's sake i must say as a larger woman i am always hot-- it's very uncomfortable to be large sometimes. 

That is so so cool that you said and did that!  Some people dont even realize how they affect other peoples lives like this.  Wow.  What nerve.  And some of these people sometimes should be told that perhaps the way that they are dressing is not quite cute either  ;)  I have a friend who wears as little clothes as possible as she says things like your coworker says.  In reality, people just talk too too much and judge too too much!

That is just awesome that you did that!  And maybe she will think first next time!
