Why America Needs Universal Healthcare

Invent a reason to go to war (weapons of mass destruction), lie to the UN about it, then call every country who sees through your baloney a terrorist nation, then spend BILLIONS on a war that's REALLY about oil, DOUBLING the cost of fuel for all Americans (while fattening the coffers of your FAMILY BUSINESS), killing thousands of Americans (to avenge the killing of thousands of Americans - because THAT makes sense) and countless others, and you're a HERO, George Bush! 

But try to help EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN by making sure that if they don't already HAVE medical insurance, they can get FREE insurance, and you're EVIL, Mr. Obama???

Is this your attempt to demonstrate your "understanding" of the news that Medicare payments might go up $23/month and--in the absence of a COLA increase--SS recipients might see a net drop of $23/month on their SS checks?

If so, you may have neglected to factor in the real world.  We're retired and OUR health care insurance premium just went up about $225/month on PRIVATE health care.

So from here...that $23 looks like a gift.

Except that Medicare costs have been SKYROCKETING and it has been losing money for years.... same with the post office...  hell, the government couldn;t even profitably run a brothel. 

Um.... WHO do you think PAYS for MEDICARE?!?!?  Can you say "we the taxpayers"?  I knew you could.  How is that any different than us paying for someone's ER visit?

Not saying the system doesn't need help, but "universal" health care run by the government is NOT the answer!

Medicare is not a FOR PROFIT operation.  Hello??  Neither is the post office. 

Tell ya what.  If your house is on fire, don't call the fire department -- taxpayers pay for that service!  You should have "personal responsibility" and put that fire out yourself, donchaknow!

No, they are not FOR PROFIT... but the point is that they cannot even operate without HEAVY subsidies... tax money that the American people usually don;t even know they are paying to support these services.

Your analogy is applpes and oranges.   I pay taxes that support my local fire department.  I know how much of my taxes support it.  When I need the fire department they are there to do their job.  With Medicare I am paying for SOMEONE ELSE'S healthcare -- in ADDITION to what I pay in premiums for my OWN healthcare.  I am paying into a Social Security and Medicare system that I will get NOTHING back out of because neither will exist in 15-20 years when I need it.

Hiw about the GOVERNMENT being responsible stewards of our tax money so that I will receive the benefits that I have been paying into for the past 30 years instead of them ******g it away on services for illegal aleins and tunnels for turtles?!?!?
