i have never had dumping syndrome.  but i also haven't had sweets or high fat foods since surgery.  to be honest i'm pretty sure i would get sick.  before i had surgery if i had a big meal, say chicken parm or anything from the outback steakhouse i would be running for the bathroom.  i just stay away from foods i was told not to eat and i don't get sick OR gain weight.

Thats a good idea.....I stayed away from salad because most people were saying that you cant eat lettuce with RNY..but not me 'miss iron pouch' I eat salad EVERY DAY for lunch!  I guess all the dumping, food sensitivity depends on each person

I too can eat anything I want but, that does not mean I do.  The point of my wonderful RNY was to help me  lose my excess weight, yet still LEARN to eat properly.  By  eating properly I mean healthy.  Before my surgery I had many health issues and now I feel like a million dollars!  If there is something I crave I have one bite and that's all.  Having been a diabetic with 600 blood glucose level just being able to taste a bite of cheesecake or sweets is a great blessing!  Funny how this surgery has helped me to be satisfied with just a bite and  not a half a of a cake like before surgery.   i am so greatful for this surgery!  I LOVE MY RNY!!!!!!!!

Hi There, to my knowledge, I have never dumped.  The only time I've vomited is just from taking one bite too many, but that's not "sick."  I notice if I eat something very carby, I get sleepy.   I tried some jellybeans from my kid's Easter basket at 3 months out, that's when I knew I wasn't going to dump!  I'm not big on sweets anyway, so it's not an issue.  I prefer it this way, so I can enjoy a bite of anything I want.  It hasn't slowed my weight loss down a bit!

I have the same problem.  I can eat anything I want and as much as I want.  I don't dump or get sick (I wish I did).  Negative reinforcement would be a wonderful tool to have.

I'm not really complaining either (I've lost 184 lbs in 13 months), but it would be so much easier if my pouch actually got full and/or I dumped and/or got sick.

I don't dump but try to live by "everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial."  I love sweets, but I have to choose to feel good/fit in my clothes.  Would I rather have that choice taken away (ie: dumping). Nope. I'd rather be obedient than punished any day. Crazy?
