When will I feel "Normal" again?
Think of it like this; You have essentially put your body in a 'controled' state of starvation between your pouch and bypassing your intestine. It will take a while for you to adjust to your new level of absorbtion.
Make absolutely certain you are getting your minimum protein in every day and take all your vitamins and suppliments. Its normal to feel tired. Just stay on top of your diet and get some walking in and you will start to feel better soon!
Good luck.

I had surgery on 8/31 and I have a ton of energy! I went to work after 3 weeks, and by week 2 I was feeling more energy than before surgery. I try to get 60 grams of protein in, and normally have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch yogurt and dinner high protein meat and green beans . . .
It may be a vitamin thing. I started the nasal B-12 spray last week. But I feel like I have more energy than before!

Sometimes a low Vit D can cause these problems. Just a suggestion to be sure the MD checks it. I have been low for several years prior to surgery and I am low again. The other thing to realize is that any adjustment in you vit. will take anywhere from 3-6 months to make a turn around.
I hope you feel better
Protein drink suggestion- I take Diet Sunkist soda shake the fizz out very well, put one scoop of vanilla designer whey in 3-4 ounces and drink down. Not great but better then it is plain. If you are the kind of person who can sip the stuff add more sunkist and slowly sip.
I am three months out and I have periods where I feel normal, some days I am very active, but afterwards I am exhausted for a day or so. I know I am getting better, but it is very slow.

I vote with you, I could have killed my surgeon after the surgery, I wanted to crawl up in a little ball and just die from the pain. I had my RNY 7-27-09. OMG, I have my days too. I had to let the vitamins kick in, I threw up on eggs, and chicken does not really set well with me. I found a couple of things and sometimes I just have to force it down. I dont dump alot, but I have the foods I know I can keep down around at all times. Your not on musyhy foods so you will be very tired. Applesause was one of the first mushy foods I was allowed- caused the worst dumping I ever had. My kids 20 and 17 were on the phone trying to contact my husband, thinking I was fallin apart, it is funny now, but not then. You will have to just keep the faith.
