I had my gastric bypass last week Tuesday.  Make sure you take your pain medicine.  Try to walk around. The more you walk the better you will feel.  You will get the gas moving and out of your body.
I saw my dr. and nut yesterday and I am doing well.  Just need to make sure to try to get the protein in.  You will do great my dear.  Just listen to your body and gets lots of rest too.
This board is great.  I love it.

Yes, it's very normal.  You just had major surgery a week ago!  It will get better in time.

My friend,
You have just had major surgery.  It may have been done with a laproscope but remember it is surgery... Your insides are healing.... Rest when you need to and take your pain medications on time to control your pain.   I found that walking helped even if it is just around the room.... Walking does help ease the discomfort.
Take Care and Congratulations on your WLS.

I had my surgery on the 21st, so I know exactly where you are coming from. But yes, it is all normal. I'm never hungry either and the gas pain is horrid. But I have learned that walking is KEY. It really really helps. And take your pain meds, thats what they are for. Don't worry, before long, you'll be the one giving out advice !! (((hugs)))

Everything you are experiencing is normal. I was not hungry at all the first 5 months and had to force myself to eat. Never had that problem before. I would have been totally happy just drinking the protein and never eating. My appetite has come back. But, I do still have days where I don't really care if I eat or not, but I make myself. I almost 9 months out.
