When do I buy new clothes???
I know we lose weight fast, and I've got jeans to see me through the winter, unless I REALLY drop some weight.
I was just wondering how anyone knows when to buy new stuff if they're going to keep losing month to month.
Is it just normal to wear them a little while, or do you buy them small-ish so you can "shrink into them"? (Instead of GROWING INTO THEM! Yay!)

Personally, I buy new clothing at wal-mart, or at lane bryant, or where ever. However, I only buy size 16-18 right now and I only buy off the clerance rack. I recently got 15 shirs/pants for $35. I mean you can even get that much used at goodwill any more for that price. I buy there too, but I like watching the 3 dollar rack, or the 70% off clerance price rack. Its AWESOME, and I dont mind if i shrink into them or out of them for that matter, I know that there will always be someone I can give them too when they are too big for me. Oh and I love the idea of being able to go to my closet and pick out something new, instead of going werever last minute because nothing fits and speding a bunch of money i really dont have at the moment. Well i hope that helps, Good luck!

My "new" clothes come from garage sales, second hand stores, and OH clothing exchanges. Not much money involved, but sizes change fast when you start out. I don't buy ahead unless it is something I know I can wear for awhile because I have too much fun going into real stores and seeing that I dropped a size. I've also spent a few weekends trying to shrink sweaters so I can keep some of them. Ho****er and drying on high did rejuvenate a few for me.
Do you belong to a WLS group? We just had an exchage in MN and I got LOTS of nice things for free! The added benefit was to also meet lots of nice folks.
Best of luck in this journey; enjoy every time someone mentions your baggy pants. My best friend is great at telling me it's time to get a smaller pair!

I personally did both. I love shopping so I hit up all the clearance racks and bought in 1 to 2 sizes too small so I could shrink into them. If you save all the reciepts and the tags are still attached you can take things back if you end up not wearing them. Everyone is different, I lost weight so fast that it seemed like I was in a new size every 2-4 weeks, it also dpends on how tight you wear your clothes. Except clothes from anyone who wants to give you used clothes, shop at thrift stores, it is going to get expensive! I went down from a 28 jeans and 30/32 top in January of this year to currently wearing a 14 jeans and 12/14 top. It was almost to fast to keep up on! Remember though that you are not just buying new clothes, you will need new tops, bottoms, jackets, bra's underwear I even had to have my ring sized from an 11 to a 8. Everything changes! Be prepared!
Don't buy any size in advance. I skipped sizes more than once.
I don't have luck at and don't like thrift stores, so eBay was my go to place. Plus, they list clothes by measurements, which really helps.
At first, get things with an elastic waist. They will last you longer.
Get them when your clothes start falling off of you or you are no longer looking professional at your job. Get them only slightly snug to fit you now. If they are too tight, you may put them away until they will fit better and, by the time you pull them out again, they'll be way too big.

Before they fall off. LOL.
I did buy clothes at St Vincent de Paul. I would check my size at a store then go shopping at SVdeP knowing what size to look for. I did try on sweaters and shirts over what I had on.
I work for the post office, so I kept my uniform pants until...well they could have had I not worn a belt...fell off.

I joined a great group on line called freecycle.org Members on this group post items that they no longer need, but are still usable. I have received clothing from size 16 all the way down to 8's! My closet has been stalkled and I have hardly paided for anything. Some of the stuff still has tags on it!! Please check into this group, it's worldwide, but divides into smaller city and town groups. Anything I get through freecycle that I don't want I take to my support group meetings. I have gotten some nice clothes at the support meetings, not a whole bunch though, just some stuff here and there. I have hit the thrift store once early out and bought everything I liked in smaller sizes. I keep my closets in numerical size order and try on stuff quite often so I don't "skip sizes" and waist good clothes.
I find clearence racks to be a bit frustrating, but I do check them out when I have time too. What sizes are you wearing because members will usually send you clothes if you pay the shipping. I have a ton of clothes 18 & 16 if you want to pay the shipping. I'm sure you'll be into these sizes real quick, if you aren't all ready!

I lost my weight pretty rapidly (first 100lbs in 7 months), so after I couldn't sew in my clothes anymore, I would go to thrift stores like St. Vincent DePaul and Goodwill. They have all kinds of sizes. About every 2 weeks I would be bringing back the clothes I wore for a short time, donate them back, and get new. It was a lot cheaper than buying from stores, and I got the tax deduction for donations at the end of the year!
