Poll for RNY'ers...do you dump?

Please tell me...do you dum*****t?  I know some RNY'ers do...and some don't so I'm just wondering how common it is and thought I'd do a little un-scientific poll here today.

Also...if you dumped in the beginning.....how likely is it that you will stop dumping as easily in 5 - 10 - 15 years.  My best friend had her RNY 10 years ago and she doesn't dump anymore.  Just wondering if anyone else has had that experience.

Personally...I hope I dump but I also hope that I get to a place years down the road...where I don't dump as quickly.  I'd like to know that one day I can enjoy a small piece of cake on a special occasion....etc.

THanks!

I do, but I didn't start dumping until I was four months in.

I dump on:

Certain cereals with fat free milk.
Alcohol, any kind, regardless of the amount of sugar or carbohydrates
Pasta
Ice cream made with anything besides soy milk, but sometimes I dump on soy ice creams, too

Why do you want to dump? It's horribly unpleasant.

Let me rephrase that...I would like to dump on sweets ....I think it'll help keep me on track.  :)

Trust me, it's so much easier just to stay away from them...then again, not everyone dumps from sweets. I sure don't. For me, it's always milk products. I've had the occasional bite or two of a candy bar and nothing happened. It's a dangerous road to travel down, trust me. You find yourself experimenting with your trigger foods and once you find out they don't affect you, they're all you want to eat. :(

You want to dump to help you stay on track?  I think they used electro shock therapy for that sort of thing back in the dark ages.  You know.  Misbehave. ZAP! Misbehave again? Up the voltage! ZAP ZAP!  Behavior modification through dumping?  I'm just trying to understand.

I don't think they can guarantee you're going to dump, tho.  Even if they could, I don't think they can customize it so you only dump on what you want to dump on.  I'm making myself dizzy, here thinking about this.

Im 16months out and dump off the exact same things... except pasta.

Ice cream, alcohol, cereal.... things with milk. PB&J.. cookies... no good. The only ice cream I can eat is Haagen Daaz...why I dont know. LOL... but thats only 5-6 spoonfuls, not a single bite more.

I can tolerate oatmeal cookies,...only type I can eat. Everything else I dump on.

It might be the pecans! I ate a few before I was to make a crust out of them......I dry heaved so bad it was horrible. I ended up making the sugar free pumpkin pie crustless. But, pecan pie is terribly rich. But I LOVED it before surgery!!!

I had RNY / Gastric Bypass from Sept. 1980 - Sept. 2008 and I dumped on about anything that was rich in nutrition or sugar; I would dump on mil**** cream, fruit etc. Foods like rice, meat, celery wouldn't make me dump but would stick in my pouch. The dumping never got any better, nor did the sticking.

After living with it so long, I can't imagine why anyone would want to dump; it's the miserable ****s!

No.  Not at all.

Statistically speaking, only 30% dump.
