When does the pain end??

I had lap RNY 13 days ago and although I feel pretty good with no trouble eating or drink... I still have this nagging burning pain by my largest incision (the one below where my jp drain hole was).

Tylenol helps for the short term, but gimme an hour and the burn is back. I can take Dilaudid, but I got off of it since it can cause constipation.

Help- I just want to know when I can expect this pain to end.

Ow.

for some the pain goes away quickly for others longer...take a laxative if ya need to..dont strain
i suggest using a cold pack not a heat pack...if the pain does not lessen in a few days call your surgeon
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Yeah constipation is a whole other topic, but this burning belly pain is really starting to get old. Maybe it never really got better, I just had pain meds then. I am for sure calling tomorrow, thanks for the cold pack suggestion... I'm going to give it a shot.
Hang in there.  In another week you are going to see a lot more improvement.

I had a good 2 weeks of pain. After that, it started to disappear. Thank goodness because that is when I returned to work.

I'm glad this question was asked,  I had the RNY on New Years Eve and will go back to work next week.  I needed to know what to expect.
If I've made someone's day a little better, then it's been a good day.

You're going back in less than 2 weeks? Holy cow you're brave.

oh gosh that burning pain hurts huh? i was so worried about the burning feeling and a pulling feeling too i walked into my dr's office and made them check me! getting in and out of my jeep was hell and forget bending over or rolling over in the bed, whew!! but the pa that checked me that day, said hang in there... and i got a refill of liquid oxy, and i was happy.  And like he said one day, it would just be gone at about 3 weeks i was about pain free, atleast of the pulling and burning pain.  I got lots of pratice picking up stuff with my toes!
