i had posted earlier that i am 2wks post op and have lost an amazing 23lbs.

Dr says i can start eating regular food of course very small amounts and very well chewed.

Sounds great right?..... except i am terrified of eating to much and the sabotaging the surgery!  How do i know i am not over eating?  I am just scared!

I think my first food was mashed potatoes PLAIN and VERY LITTLE.  I was scared and know just how you feel.  Dumping is awful to say the least and I hate to throw up (I have the say I only threw up 1 time and have dumped only when I ate out cause of hidden fat).  Make sure you have all the doctors food lists and your new tummy will let you know when full, just make sure to eat slowly. Take care!

You will not be able to over eat - your pouch won't allow it for now.  At 3 months out I still can only eat about a half cup. Some people say they don't feel fullness but I do, and 1 bite to many and I'm in pain. This is the start of portion control and learning your limits,at least it was for me. Just remember to eat your protein first. You'll do fine. Good luck on your journey.

You're getting good advice here.  Chew thoroughly, eat slowly, do not drink with your meals, and don't eat crackers, cookies, chips, rice, pasta, etc.  Mashed potatoes can be okay in moderation, but try to stick to proteins - yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, salmon, dark meat chicken and turkey, etc.

Everyone is telling u the same thing, being more than 3yrs out and successful so far, they are all right. Your pouch will guide u, when u feel satisfied, not full, stop. if not you will know right away u have over eaten. I have to say that feeling is one of the worse feelings i have ever felt in my life. It is a entire body encompassing feeling. U feel totally ill until your body digests it or you throw it up........good luck and remember, eat until ur SATISFIED not FULL

You've got great answers already.  23 pounds is amazing isn't it?  Congrats to making it to the other side.
