Zipline vs. parasailing...which would you choose?

I am going to the Southern Caribbean over spring break on a cruise.  I am wanting to do something a bit adventurous on this trip because my weight won't hinder me as it has in the past.  I've narrowed my adventurous activity options down to doing a zipline through the jungle or parasailing.  I'm leaning toward the zipline.  Have any of you done either of those?  If so, did you enjoy it?

 I'd do the zipline.

I've parasailed when I was a teen.  While it was fun/thrilling it was over in about 5 minutes and it was just a view of the ocean that's a lot like what you can see from a plane.  I think a zipline experience would help you to see the jungle in a totally different way and it sounds like it would be a blast.

I went parasailing on a trip to Panama City once and it was soooo much fun. I loved it. It was so beautiful over the ocean. I will admit I have always wanted to zipline too. You have a very hard choice to make. Have fun with which ever one you choose!!

I have not been on a zipline, but I have parasailed and I LOVED it.  It is so much fun.  Ziplines are on my to-do list, but haven't had a chance yet.

I parasailed once (and I'm afraid of heights!), and thought it was a great experience, but once you're up there, it's very calm.  I'm planning on ziplining this summer after I've dropped weight...and it looks to me that it'll be more thrilling because of the speed!  I'd go ziplining!

If you have time I would do both....BUT
I would choose zipline...you can always go to any beach in the US and parasail.  I realize it is not the same as being in the Caribbean though.

Zipline.  I have seen to many instances of something happeing to the parasail rig. getting drug along the beach till you catch wind, the jerk of the parasail damn near breaking your back.   Nope, at least with the zip line you have some type of control, albiet false, it would make me feel more in control.
Duh know on this one.  DH did the parasailing, me, no way.   You go girl, have fun!

Zipline all the way!!!!!!! I was on a cruise a few months ago and promised myself that this would be my activity of choice on my next vacation.  At that point my surgery was only about a month away.  I am so tired of hearing about it.  Now we can do it.

Parasailing is also great (I have never done it but my husband has) but I think the zip is a little more adventurous and lasts longer.

Have fun whatever you decide to do.

Your post reminded me that some venues offer a "love seat" type of parasailing adventure where you are slowly launched from the stern of the tow boat and they winch you back down for a smooth landing on the stern.  I am not saying it's foolproof but it is definately less risky.
