Skin pains?? excess shrinking maybe?
Lately, I've been hanging new curtains, but not doing any odd stretching or anything, cleaning off my porch, putting stuff away (finally) and yesterday, I noticed a very little twinge around my old GBS incision areas (one of them in particular). It kind of reminds me of the days when I had adhesions, but they're on the surface, not deep inside kind of pains, and I would think that I'm so far past scar tissue building, that I wonder if it's just my skin tightening up and doing it's thing. I'm noticing that my skin is not doing the real saggy thing (yet -except my bat wings) and seems to be shrinking and elastizing back into it's smaller self?? I can set here at my desk and all of a sudden, I'll feel that little twinge or feeling of tension. It doesn't happen very often, but every now and then. Not sure how to describe it. I'd like to think it's just my skin shrinking back to it's normal state?
Since surgery, July 22nd, I've lost 80 lbs and 112 in the past year.
Anyone else ever have these issues or slight pains, maybe feelings of skin tightening? Can you feel this happening or I wonder if it's something bad going on. Dang, I hope not, but I don't feel bad.... I feel great..

If it's at the site of a scar...it's the difference in tension between the tissue types...and nothing to be concerned about. While you may experience some response of skin aka tightening...for the most part - our skin is permanently damaged by the years of stress on collagen fibers.....and shrinkage to a normal state isn't going to happen. I lost 150 pounds.....I exercised incessantly......still do...and I still had to do three rounds of plastics. I've learned a great deal about skin healing watching those miles of scars change over time. The younger you are - the most collagen you will have at your disposal....the better your skin will respond. Susan

Thank you Susan. I hear what you're saying and that makes sense too. I'm thinking 48 doesn't qualify as young in this rodeo :(
I also wonder, if because I was one of those yo-yo dieters, lost alot of weight, then gained back plus some, and did it again and again over time, I wonder if that helps with the fact that my skin hasn't been "permantly" stretched? So far, my stomach seems to be shrinking down rather well. I realize everyone is different and maybe because I still have 80 to get to my goal weight if that's where I'll begin to see more sagging and less shrinkage going on. Again, I realize everyone is different, but it would be interesting to know other people's journeys and individual situations.

I'm almost 7 months out and I've lost 136 lbs, I was glad to see your post because I'm kind of having the same thing except I do have quit a bit of extra skin and I've been having twinges of pain off and on since around 3 months. Mine happens under what used to be my butt cheeks and on the side of my breasts when my bra is off, I was thinking more on the lines of maybe the
tissue or something pulling away, it's really hard to explain. The pain doesn't last but just a few seconds but it burns and stinks almost like a broken blood vessel. I know it sounds weird!

stinks - I had a chuckle at 1st and thought "hmmm, that didn't happen to me", then read your correction (you can "edit" you know), but I got what you mean :-) so it's all good.
since 3 mos out huh......mine twinges just started happening yesterday, for me, it's almost like I was straining myself, but I wasn't so it's got me totally baffled. Best thing I can describe is what it used to feel like when I had adhesions a long time ago..
