My DH, our 3 yr old blessing (we were told that we would never have children because of PCOS and weight issues, 19 years ago) and me,  all want to have another baby.  I had a dream last night that were were trying to have another and I put the breaks on the whole idea and the only thing I remeber saying is that I didn't want to put the babys life in danger because of my wanting it and not caring about the consquenses to the baby.   i have worked so hard to get the weight off, I do not want to get it back.  I have an OBGYN that has had lapband and has studied the preg after WLS and is comfortable with taking care of them.  My current dr suggested him, because he didn't know enough and he does not deliver at my hospital so he couldn't see me anyway.  He did mention losts of bloodwork, visits with sug, nut and him.  I do not want to put the baby's life at risk because of may age ( I will be 41 in Sept.) or the WLS.  I am thinking  of this now before I get to the 12-18 mo timeline the doctor set up.  (I agree with the timeline because I am not at goal weight yet either).

Anyway, I guess my question is how does the pregancies effect the weight coming back off.  What are the risks that you know of to watch for.  Any advise please. I did post on preg boards.

Take your vitamins, get your blood tests every 8 weeks, wait the 18 months, and baby will be fine.  I'm looking at 2 of them.  Want one?

Thank you for the offer LOL  My daughter is wanting me to kiss daddy so she can hear the baby in my belly.  She is pretty smart for a 3 year old.  we are planning on waiting, I just like to be prepared.

A friend in my local support group is about 5 months pregnant.  She's not quite a year out and it wasn't intentional (1 got away).  The first few months were hard on her, but she's doing fine and baby is fine.  When you do decide the time is right, let your dr know asap, get your vitamins in and follow your dr's instructions.

Once you have your 2nd miracle, I recommend nursing as the weight does drop off quite easily.  I've seen it and experienced it.  Consult your dr and nutritionist about returning to your post surgery/pre pregnancy habits to take the weight off.  Also, keep active during pregnancy.  It helps with the gaining weight AND taking it back off.
