Unexplicable pain....everywhere very long, but I need help

This may be long, because I dont know where I'm going with this. About a week ago I posted on another forum about the mystery pain I'm having all over my body, from the neck down. I'me sure most of you dont know my story. I severe debilitating spinal osteoarthritis at 32yrs with a couple more co-morbidities. I had RNY surgery on March 11, 2011. I had a pretty uneventful surgery except for some pain med issues, because of the pain meds I already take on a daily basis for my OA. I've had absolutely no complications as far as the surgery goes, with drinking, eating, constipation, gas etc. I consider myself one of the lucky ones, whwn I hear others problems. I stayed in Mexico for 8 days after my surgery and then flew home.
I have had some "twinges" in my knees also somewhat before surgery. I contributed to my weight and arthritis issues. About 2 weeks post-op I started getting the feeling of sore muscles, like a very strenuous exercise, but from my neck down. It felt like I had pulled every muscle in my body, and my joints were achy. I thought it would get better, but it has only gotten worse. Went to my PCP and had blood tests drawn. Absolutely nothing wrong. No infection, no inflammation, good protein, no autoimmune diseases, etc. I had been researching my symptoms and was pretty much convinced it was going to come back positive for RA. But, nope. The P.A. gave me some muscle relaxers(Zanaflex), and that has helped with the muscles somewhat, but my joints hurt so bad that I can't extend any of them fully or it feels like they're snapping. All my joints from my neck down. Shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, fingers, wrists, ankles...you get the idea.  My feet hurt so bad sometimes it's hard to walk. It feels like my Achilles(sp) tendon is about to tear, and my feet just hurt to put weight on them. The P.A. told me to e-mail my surgeon and ask him if he has ever run accross anything like this. I think he told me to contact him because he has no clue what's going on. I go back on Friday to see my real Dr. Until then, I've been researching my tail off.
Since my RA test came back neg, he just crossed that off the list, but I've read that sometimes there is a false negative. I also had no inflammation, so, arthritis like symptoms with no inflammation is called, arthralgia. I've looked up diseases and sicknesses that have arthralgia as a symptom, but the only thing I can come up with, that matches anything close to allmy symptoms is Fibromyalgia.
I know this was long, and if you have gotten all the way through this, you don't have any idea how much I appreciate that. It means alot that a stranger would care enough (or be bored enough!) to read it all.
If you have any ideas that might help me...PLEASE, let me know. I got this surgery to try and have a life. I'm only 32 and am already disabled because of my back, I have to find something to help! Any feedback you my have is welcome.....Thanks again

Yes, it could be fibromyalgia.

I take a lot of supplemental magnesium (mag citrate and a topical magnesium). It seems to relieve my tendon-pain-like symptoms. If I back off on it at all, I get awesome foot and lower leg cramps where it feels like the tendons are going to bend in half. That might be worth a try for you.

Could be a lot of things. I think your primary doc is going to need to do more testing, and or send you to some specialists. You can have RA even with fairly normal SED and R factors. You are going to have to push for answers ! Best of luck.

I think rheumatoid arthritis comes in pairs - ankles, knees, shoulders, etc.  And yes, you can have RA w/o the R factor or whatever it is.

Are you taking any medication? My husband responded to a certain medication that way, once.  I think it was celebrex.  All over deep aching.  Stopped taking the med and it cleared up.

I have severe RA. This sounds more like fibromyalgia, which can be very painful and difficult to diagnose.

Did your doc check your Vit D level?

When my D is deficient I have horrible joint/muscle pain.

Hey Pup, I thought about that too. I have started having swelling of the hands and feet now, I dont think that is concurrent with vit D deficiency. Is it? Please let me know if it is. I bumped up my Vit D3 about 3-4 days ago, just in case. The P.A. didnt do an early 3 mo lab work-up like I thought he was gonna do, so I am going to request that to my PCP on Friday.

You just had surgery....How much water are you drinking..sounds to me like dehydration...

Thanks, I wrote in my post that I have had absolutely no complications and that I consider myself one of the lucky ones. I have been able to drink regularly since I came home from the hosp. Yeah! I have been dehydrated before and swore that wasnt gonna happen to me! I'm getting at least 80 oz of water with and add-in like crystal light each day. I just dont know.
