I have had diarreha tonight but it's all green. Is this possibly a stomach (pouch) cold from all the ice and popsicles I've been eating?  Do I need to call the Doctor?

If you've been eating purple popsicles it can turn your stool green.  It's the blue dye that mixes with the yellow bile and we all know, yellow and blue make GREEN. LOL.  It happenes to my son all the time when I give him purple or blue kool-aid.  Relax, it's probably  nothing. :)

ETA:  I don't mean to be graphic but when it happens to my son it's not just sorta green, I am talking bright, play doh colored green.  Gross but harmless. :)

Also are you eating the sugarfree popsicles? Depends on the artifical sweetner used that  may cause diarrhea. I agree blue/purple makes green on the way out..I used to give my son gatorade when he was a toddler and he got florescent green diarrhea.

Iron can turn any person's poopies green :) (can you tell I have kids??) I know I take supplements that have Iron and at one point my surgeon put me on extra iron.

Here is a link to a funny poop site. http://www.smellypoop.com/facts_about_poop.php. When one of my kids had poop that looked like green play dough a few months ago too, I googled it. This was the first site that came up!

Happy Pooping!

As others have said the green is probably from the popsicles. The diarreha itself is from being on liquids. Nothing solid in = nothing solid out. That took me aback at first when it happened to me, but as I thought about it I was "Duh"! You are fine but never, ever, be afraid to ask your surgeon. That's why they get the big bucks. Congrats on joining us on the losers bench.
