I am not including this to be bashed or start a problem about the negative things about WLS. I am just putting this link to maybe get some input on the reasons that are listed. If you do not want to know or hear about this subject PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE.Thank you for understanding.

Most of what she posts on the web about WLS is a lie. As an example, she told a friend of mine about a study that showed that it wasn't worth it to have WLS to cure diabetes. Except the authors of the study stated in their conclusions that EXACT OPPOSITE. (He looked it up, smart man.)
As soon as you said you found a website that made you rethink a few things, I figured it was hers.
If you don't want to have surgery, don't have it but don't not have it because of misinformation and lies. Also realize that getting scared and having second thoughts once the surgery date gets closer is really common. It's usually just nerves because it is a big change and a big decision.
"My body is suffering from lack of it. Will that truly change?"
Absolutely. I was training for a Sprint Triathlon on 900 calories a day when I was early out. The surgery changes the hormones involved in digestion and that changes everything.

If your not sure you want WLS then yes, cancel. Sounds like you have alot on your plate right now. None of us can tell you what to do, but I will make a couple of little side notes. WLS before to many MO related co-morbidities is less risky. Also the calories you are taking in now are NOT what most WLS people stay at. it is the amount of calories most people can take in during the first few months of surgery, Right now I eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day depending on what I'm doing for the day. If I exercise and use more calories, I'll eat more that day without any problems. The calories you take in after surgery won't necessarily effect you the same way, your body is "re-arranged" and you *might* feel satisfied with much less than you would being a non-op.

i have a question. you mentioned that you had been through this a couple of times already (insurance issues) and your current insurance gave the approval faster than the others. had you been approved for WLS in the past? if so, what made you decide against it?
this is way too big a deal to not be sure!
