You ARE an inspiration, and that's not just because you've lost so much weight, but because you overcame your rough post surgery complication.

I've had a family member that had be be on a vent and had many of the other problems you had.  It's a huge ordeal to overcome and recover from those things.  You look like the picture of health now, and I'm sure your decision for WLS will lead you to have a full and productive life.

Thanks Kim....it was truly a nightmare the first few months but I really have no regrets....and am very thankful that I'll be around to see my son grow up (God willing)....that's what lead me down this path and that, along with everything I went through, is some serious motivation to avoid slacking off.

AWESOME!!! JUST AWESOME!!!! Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing such positive post ...nothing in life comes easy at least IMO but persistence DOES AND WILL PAY OFF.... I am determined not to sit and whine and wallow and dwell on regrets and be victims of my conditions caused either by me or by external cir****tances not in my control.  I rather either fix, accept, treat, overcome, survive and be accountable for my decisions and keep on moving persisting and persevering  ... After all you have been through you wrote NO EXCUSES and you have been through an awful lot but you came through by persistence and look at you today ... AWESOME I SAY ... it does and did pay off ... thanks for paying it forward by sharing your awesome journey....

Thank you so much for sharing your story .. to think that after spending a weekend at a retreat with my husband and friends I was making excuses to not go to the gym for toning at 11am this morning thinking that my 5 mile run this morning was it for the day ... well sir you have inspired me to get up and go I will be at the gym this morning at 11 at LA Fitness with my weights and zumba toning ... your awesome journey has inspired even me this morning...

Congratulations... I am soooooooooooooo happy for you ... and thanks for giving a boost to my determination this morning to persist ... it does and will pay off ... THANK YOU!

ADAM,

Did u have to have any skin removed?  I was "pear shaped" thus leaving alot of excess skin in my lower body, thighs, hips.  Never had much of a stomach, but have lots of extra skin in the arm area. I walk 4 miles a day, however, have noticed a weakness in upper body and i am sure I would benefit greatly from strength training ..... however, even with becoming stronger ... I will still have the loose skin ...right ????

Moderate to severe excess skin in the abdomen cannot typically be tightened without surgery since you cant really fill it in with muscle as with other areas....I had very little excess skin, nothing noticeable in clothese, but my surgeon removed a pound and a half on my lower abdomen during my last hernia repair....I was very lucky with my skin considering how much I lost....the excess skin on my arms has been filled in with muscle and i'm almost there with my chest, just a bit of looseness left....
