All kinds of answers come to mind but, here's a few and keep in mind, I'm no doctor....(1) you could die, (2) you can cause leaks from the new suture lines, (3) you could suffer great pain.
Consider this, would you give an infant real food? Your tummy is like an infants and now it must relearn how to handle food but first, it must heal.

Please follow the rules and you will have a greater chance at success. I'm not sure what surgery you had but they all pretty much start the same. Just do what the doctor said, you can do this. Have a yummy Popsicle, jello or satisfying broth...lol.       Connie

I feel you. I was 5 days post op and ate runny mashed potatoes. I was full for a whole 30 hours! my suggestion is try some creamy soup that has chunks like dumplings in it and blend it and enjoy. You might notice real food is really not what you "want" right now.. its all in your head :]

Best-case scenario---you cheat, and nothing happens.

Worse-case scenario---you cheat, your staple-line fails, you develop a leak, and die a agonizing death.

Most-likely scenario---something in between.

Have some pasta. And then wait for the worst pain of your life. Hide any weapons because you may consider suicide.

I felt like that too. There was no way at the time that you could have told me that it was head hunger, but believe me, there is no way you could even eat the food that you want right now.

It seemed like everywhere I looked I saw food. All the commercials. All the signs on the side of the road. Trust me when I say this will pass, but it doesn't happen over night.

Follow your surgeon's rules. There are reasons they put them in place. What you eat now could effect you for the rest of your life if you ruin your new tummy.

Hang tight!!!! You will get there.
