My Doctor Won't Order My Labs X Post

 That sounds like a good idea.  This PCP followed me for several years after my first surgery and although she didn't know a lot about it she was always willing to learn and consult other doctors.  I would have gone back to her years ago but she stopped taking my insurance for while and then when they did start taking my insurance again she wasn't accepting new patients so I consider it a good sign that now she is.  I just have to hope the office manager agrees.
My original surgeon is OK except for doing the DS, which thankfully they don't do anymore.  I can see why they had so many problems considering their follow up program sucks.  They advice patients to take Flintstones.  I don't see any reason to continue going there for follow up.  I do want to go to my one year appointment, mainly so I stay on the record in case of any problems in the future.  I heard it is hard to get another surgeon to follow up when they didn't perform the surgery.  There is always a chance in the future of more hernias, bowel obstructions and things like that and it is probably better to have the surgeon that did the surgery to handle that.

I agree 100% but would be interested in any opposing views.

When will you find out about your pcp taking you back?

 Probably not until Monday.  No real hurry since I have been pretty healthy recently but I do want to get in and talk to her and make sure she is good with ordering my labs.

That's crazy !! It's not like you are asking to run some expensive high tech test with fancy machines! Your doctor acts like he/she is personally going to go bankrupt if you get an extra vial of blood drawn.
