Anyone have plastic surgery on the thighs?
It's likely going to be around $8K from a surgeon who does a lost of RNY post op plastic surgery. Price could vary too, depending on any other issues with the patient. Be aware too, that thigh surgery is likely to be one of the most painful surgeries to recover from. Every time you move your lets, you'll have discomfort. Going rate will vary somewhat. Just make sure you get a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, one with plenty of experience on post ops from wt loss surgery. I would certainly not look for the cheapest surgeon you can find. The surgeon I noted, has had plenty of pateints in our support groups, and all patients seem to rave about him. Dr. Batra is his name. DAVE

I have to disagree with Dave on the pain, I had mine done and I had incesions from groin to knee on the inside and also had sadddle bags removed from the outside. I did not have any pain the compression garmet helped a lot. I actually got insurance to cover most of it, which I am told is rare, so I only paid around 3K.
I flew from Colorado to California 3 weeks after my surgery and other than a little more swelling there were no issues.

My incisions have faded a lot the only place they are really still visible is high up that is always covered by clothing.
For me this has been the only plastics I have had due to the fact my legs were where most of my weight was.....it was so worth it just wish I could have had more taken off, but thing are so much more porpotional now....in the future would love to do more but who knows....

I have my thighs done last after a lower body lift, brachioplasty and augmentation. It was the most difficult surgery on al fronts. I even had minimal incisions compared to most because my legs were thin and muscular (I was in great great shape before I started plastics). My fees were higher. It was worth it and two years later in spite of the incision being from groin go knee...they have faded and are barely visible. Susan

The plastic surgeon I noted has spoken about thigh surgery at my support meetings. He said this surgery has the most shaping benefits with the long scar. It may not be pretty, buy you honestly get the best results from this method. The surgeon said the patients compared the pain levels between their RNY, arm surgery, breast surgery, body lifts, etc.--and in their opinion the thigh surgery was the most painful. DAVE
