 And therein lies the problem.

We need to feel safer.

I think we all need to just keep creating the safety and the support through how we post. OH is now taking this seriously with their active support.

OH is a great place to hang out and let it all hang out... The good people have kept me going. Like you.

"Support fosters your growth. If you are getting enough of the right support, you will experience a major transformation in yourself. You will discover a sense of empowerment and peace you have never before experienced. You will come to believe you can overcome your challenges and find some joy in this world." Katie Jay

This is the internet.  Once again, refer to my internet rules.  We create our own safety because we control what comes over our screens.  If a person wants to be a victim, they will be and they don't need any help from anyone.  Eventually, people avoid them so it is a self correcting problem.

Don't worry about upsetting a group of cranky ladies.   If you need your questions answered, go ahead and ask them.  You matter as much as anyone else.

What a great post!
I agree with you on what you choose to share. Just because you are on a public site or make your living dealing with the public, it doesn't give them the right to demand or know about every aspect of your life. And quite frankly it isn't safe for strangers to know everything about you.
As for improving yourself in any manner. Do what you need to do & who cares about what other people think. At the end of the day or your life, you want to be proud of what you accomplished, not ashamed.

Exactly.

I appreciate your understanding.

Some here would expect a urine and blood sample, along with proof of residency, marriage certificate... and taxes.

The one thing that amazes me is we as obese people have been made to feel second class, lower than whale **** spit on, pushed down and abused our entire lives.

You would think the last people we would hurt is each other

 WLS doesn't fix that.

The internet gives a feeling of safety to attack others regarding our OWN hurts.  I've done it.  I do it.  I look back and slap my OWN wrist.

Hurt people HURT people.  It's supposed to make them feel better.  I don't think it helps.

Whelp...OH is NOT my go-to place to post. There are other heavily moderated boards where any nastiness is quickly removed, no questions asked. You wanna argue about it? Not there, you don't *** Bye Ya. That is how I like it.

Here, however, there is everything from the innocent 3 week post-opper who gets SLAMMED for saying he/she didn't lose weight that day or week. (trust me...it happened to me...how was I supposed to know "three week stall" is a common search term???)
All the way to calling MM the B, the C and every other harsh word out there.

I am old. I have thick skin. I also can point the arrow to that X in the corner to not deal with OH any longer. I was invited to look over this thread. I did NOT read all 6 pages. I just wanted to let you know why I do not participate in these boards.
