They said it is mild but in the REM stage of sleep...I think that is what it is called he said it is moderate/severe so I get to go back in for another night of sleep and do the testing again with a mask and they try to adjust my levels.

So if you had this before do they wake you up a lot for this nights study? I wasn't up at all the 1st night I slept like a baby HAHA. This time I am anticipating being up most of the night with them checking on me.

I throw papers in the middle of the night so this was the most enjoyable test so far I got a great comfy bed and a full night of sleep HAHA I was just hoping I could get another night like that.

When I went back for the study to determine pressure level, it was a piece of cake. They fitted me with a mask, and I went to sleep with very low pressure. While you sleep, they keep upping the level until the apnea episodes cease.

I went to sleep and slept straight thru until the tech woke me up in the morning. Best night sleep I had in years.

Of course, you are still attached to all the wires, so that is somewhat uncomfortable.

Hello

WHen I went back for my second night to determine my sleep pressure, they kept waking me up to change mask types to see what one I liked best. There are many different types of masks.

So I guess it depends on the clinic.

Thanks

Mine was so severe they did the mask and titrated it on my first sleep study.

Years later when I went back for my second study they had a whole new staff and they didn't listen to me. They ended up shoving the clip thingy that goes in your nose, so hard that I ended up with a nose bleed. They never even noted it in the paperwork, just that I had difficult achieving sleep. I went home with a bloody nose. I refuse to go thru it again.

I hope it all works out for you. i don't see any reason why would would have any issues and should be able to get a restful night of sleep.

Good luck!!!

Thanks! I am sorry you had to have such a bad experience and get a nose bleed....people treating the public need to be gentle and listen. ugh
I saw 5 or 6 masks in the center when I went for my first study he said that they are the ones they stock but they can order others.
I can't wait to see how much this improves my sleep!
Thanks,
Michelle

A cpap changed my life for sure.  No more falling asleep watching TV.  One bonus - I had two girlfriends that refused to share a hotel room with me on vacation because they stayed up all night to make sure I started to breathe again after each time I stopped breathing. We just got back from Disneyworld and shared a room.

They both cannot believe the difference after cpap.
