Dirty Looks
I thought the same as well. As a life-long obese person I have never, ever glared at a slender person just for being slim. Who knows what might have been going on in the woman's life at that moment.. For me, I live with constant muscle and joint pain and I've caught my reflection more than once looking like the grinch. I have to keep reminding myself to put a smile on my face or scare small children and animals. I don't view this as a nsv, but I do congratulate the op on the great weight loss she has experienced.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that had this reaction. At first it seemed like everyone was congratulating her for getting a dirty look and that just made no sense to me.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I felt the same way as you & Ladytazz. I never, ever gave someone a dirty look just because they were thin. If I did, I would spend my whole day giving people dirty looks - even some of my friends!
I have a wrinkle on my forehead (and yes, I WILL get Botox one of these days!) that makes me look angry or concerned even when I'm not. You just don't know what's going on in someone's head unless you ask.
But, if it makes the OP feel good about herself to think she has "haters" - go right ahead - lol!

Hey, I've had people think I'm angry with them when the truth is I have a migraine. It's hard not to scowl when your head hurts that much. I have been known to scare small children, and I'm a NICE PERSON. Really!

Keep on swimming! Keep on swimming!
Several people including the OP posted that they've had moments where people thought they were being mean but really they were just spaced out! This makes me laugh b/c I've had this same experience. Occasionally I'm off in la land and don't realize the look on my own face!! Of course I have a 16 year old daughter who tells me these things. If we all had teenagers to critique us we'd be more self aware (sarcasm...) But congrats on your weight loss. Wishing you all the best!!
Okay, let me ask you if you did not just love it at some level? LoL
I will be 57 in a few months, and have to tell you that because I think young, dress stylishly, and maintain myself, I get those same sort of unpleasant suffering stares from the granny looking types all the time.
I just flash my brightest smile and thank God that I am who I am rather than some ole meany who tries to make others feel badly about themselves by giving them dirty looks.
Have fun girlfriend!!!
