Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I had RNY surgery on 3/6 and the first few days were tough. Believe me it does get easier. It takes a few days for the pain to dull and then you start seeing results and let that motivate you. The walking for me is also relaxing, great gospel music is wonderful to relax the mind on your walks. Nothing more inspirational! Envision the healthier, smaller, happier you when you get cravings!
I went and met friends last night for the first time since my surgery. They knew I had surgery but did not know what type. I walked in and one of my best friends said wow look at you, you don't look like you have been sick. You look great! I took that opportunity to tell them about my surgery as I did not know how they would react and wanted to share it in person. Their response was also a great motivation. By the end of the night they ordered a shot (shot of water for me) to toast to my success on this journey. I thought that was the nicest thing and it really gave me steam to keep up this journey. Maybe getting out of the house with friends will help you feel better!

I had surgery at the end of December, and I was thinking about food so much that I was dreaming about it! I would wake up craving things I hadn't ate in YEARS, but the urge was so strong. Just remember this is a psychological moment in your life. Your body wants to chew, but you know rationally that those liquids are going to nourish you. Do you think maybe you need some more variety in those shakes? Maybe that would help a little? I know it made a HUGE difference to me! (check out www.theworldaccordingtoeggface and www.bariatricfoodie.com, they have some amazing recipes and tips and tricks). Are you able to get some walking in? Sometimes when I feel the urge to splurge I walk or read, that might help!

YW! I also invested in some s/f flavored syrups and bought some powdered peanut butter. I made a shake that tasted just like a Girl Scout cookie. Boy, was I a happy camper then!
Honey, please believe it: THIS IS GOING TO PASS. Read my earlier blog posts (I had open RNY 2/28/2012). I was EXACTLY where you are now. Every day you're going to feel quantum-leaps better. Do not push yourself too hard. We women are so used to doing everything by ourselves. ASK FOR HELP. Ask for support. Ask for visitors! Having my friends over (even though I had permanent bedhead) made me feel so much better, & distracted me from my discomfort. You can write to me any time you want to talk! I was where you are now, just yesterday! xoxo GG

The diet is definitely tough and it does get a little easier. I was fortunate not to have pain just some soreness across the abs and that was about it. As far as the liquids I was on clear for a week after surgery and then was moved to full liquids for the next 2 weeks. Variety is the key for sure. I had chicken broth and beef as well as veg and that helped. I have several flavors of protein powder to vary the tastes and even started to mix them to make them more platable. Hang in there friend and one major difference is I live alone and didn't have to watch others enjoy all the foods as normal.
I still think about Jack N Box tacos and realize they are not gone forever, but someday will be again part of my life in moderation.
Aisha remember why you did this was for a better life for you and your kids, for motivation look at the before and after on this site and know one day you will be on here as will I.
love ya
