I'm only 4 days out from having lap RNY. I was released from the hospital yesterday. This is probably a silly question but is it normal for me to weigh 6 pounds more than the morning before surgery?

I was four pounds more. Remember there are parts of you that are probably fairly swollen from surgery yet. Swollen = water. Mine went away by about my seventh day.

Yep. It's from all the IV fluid.

Definitely ... I had back to back surgeries on post op day#2 I had a second intervention due to a complication ... by the time I was discharged being on IV therapy for a whole week I was up several pounds from the fluids ... it is normal...

autumnsiggy2 RNY 2/5/07 no regain having implemented lifestyle changes....

Yes, and it took me about a week to drop the excess water weight.
