Surgery went better than I could have imagined! I am HOME!

My surgery went better than I could have imagined. NO problems! The first 24 hours was the hardest if you could call it hard at all. Aside from nausa and one episode of throwing up some blood in my stomach it was a piece of cake. Kaiser-Hawaii is more like a resort then a hospital, somehow I scored a private room with a big picture window overlooking Moanaloa Valley and the mountains above. I watch the sunrise every morning come up over the mountains and enjoyed the trade winds coming through the window. I relaxed and watch old movies and just recovered peacefully. The nurses, my doctor and everyone were great!!!! I considered myself very blessed to have such a wonderful experience. I am home now after 3.5 days in the hospital. I feel great! I actually feel like getting out but I know I should rest.

I feel pretty silly about all the fear and anxiety I was feeling before my surgery. I am so glad I had the sleeve instead of GB for me it was the right choice, I already know it will get me where I need to go... loser's bench here I am and I am planning a vacation at the end of summer and another in November to celebrate my success. I have a long road ahead but I know I WILL get there.
Thank you to all my OH friends for your support!

Congrats! Good to hear you are feeling so well.

Glad to hear it went so well for you!  Hearing your story really helps calm me a bit as I anticipate my surgery at the end of June.

Nice, it sounds like you were staying at a hotel!   Was there a reason why they kept you for 3.5 days?  Personally I would have loved to have stayed longer, but the second day after surgery I was home by noon.

You don't need to rest you need to be up and moving around to avoid blood clots, the old wives tale of taking to bed after surgery is long gone.  Laying around is not good for anyone.

Congrats and enjoy the new you.
