10 months out--AMAZING
This is truly an amazing time, 10 months ago today I had my RNY surgery and have lost 105 pounds since that date. Even more astounding is yesterday marked my 1st anniversary with starting the pre-op diet (11.21.11) and the grand total for weight loss is an amazing 144 pounds in one year's time.
My life has changed 100%, more energy and pride within myself....nothing more needs to be said. I am redefining who I am and discovering a new outlook on life. For so many years I was ashamed and uncaring to be around others and even myself. What a positive difference 1 year and lots of effort can make.
Best to all that are starting this process and I wish you all find the life that we can lead once again.
Thanks to all that have helped me get here and the wonderful support and encouragement that I have received during this time.

First let me clarify that my menu plan is now, not right after surgery...Stay on the diet of liquid and soft foods for the first 6-8 weeks as directed. In time you will have many more options, the first 3-5 months can and will be a challenge trying to adapt and figuring out what works and the speed in which to eat it at....
Today my meal was 1/2 of a protein bar for breakfast, the other half after my walk with my dog for 30 minutes. I have a dill pickle as a snack on some days or a couple of whole grain crackers with peanut butter on them. I ate a lot of watermelon during the spring and summer for sure. For dinner I will have a cup of soup, (my homemade veggie is wonderful with kidney beans in lieu of potatoes for the extra protein and stew meat, with carrots and celery. Right now I have a crock pot on with chili inside, I can have baked ham as a snack or meal and I have a small steak (I buy top sirloin with 2 pieces) and have for 2 dinners. I will have a 1/2 slice of multi grain bread with my dinner as well. Even at 10 months out I still have some issue with chicken, and mashed potatoes also seem to weigh too heavy in my stomach. For dessert I have a small cup of mixed fruit from Dole or fresh fruit, sometimes a popsicle or jello SF pudding. Every once in a while I will buy the variety pack of Pringle potato chips individual serving size in .74 oz and 100 calories and those are a special treat for me. Do try for your protein first and whatever room is left over for the side dishes. The hard adjust is not eating to fast....that can be very uncomfortable and I still struggle with it,
Hope this helps..
