You didn't include your height?  I am 5'3 and started at 326, my surgeon thought that 160 would be good but I'm shooting for 145.  I met with my primary care last week and he thought that 145 would be ideal for me.  Your age has some bearing on the weight as well.  I am 57 and I would be thrilled at 145.  Currently my weight is at 167 and i do look fine, but I am a little frightened about the bounce back weight too which could be 5-10 pounds. 

It is such a personal choice and how you feel is the most important factor. Then maintaining will be the real challenge

I think you shouldn't worry about it. Tell people asking that your body will stop losing once it gets to the weight it levels at.....Dang....size 8....I was 167lbs back in 1987 & was a size 16/18 (I am only 5'3" tall though). Remember this is your body and your choice to do WLS, thank the family for their concerns & advise and do what's best for you! Congrats on the weight loss, so far.
