Got the bill for my surgery!!!

Amount Billed $53,763.44

But with the hospital being in-network they paid like $44,400 or so. Umm wow!!! I was in a semi-private room and had the RNY. In hospital 3/5-3/7 i wonder if this includes the anesthesiologist and surgeon fees lol

Probably not, I had out patient Hernia repair surgery last year and my hospital bill was $22,000 just for the room and stuff. I have no idea how much the surgeon and anesthesiologist were but I know they were billed separately.

Didn't know mine was a deal at half that amount.

My hospital bill was 58,000.00 for 3 days. This does not include the doctor and anes. I haven't received those yet.

wow, i will never complain about my $400 a day co pay ever again.

Hey now i dont feel bad im not the only one like holy cow! Mine was 24,000 and my insurance only covered half. so i owe my hospital around 10,000 not including anesthesiologist!

but what are we going to do we needed it :)

Mine is now up to $93,000 - this is one night at the hospital, the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and some other items. I had no complications. (Oh, and one item on the hospital came to $27,300 for "sterile supplies"!)  Because of my insurance agreement, the hospital cut their portion to $30K, bringing my total to "only" $63,000.

They say my out-of-pocket portion due is....$20,000!! 

I checked with others at work with the same doctor, hospital, insurance, etc - their total due was $1,500.  So I'm in the process now of trying to see what they have wrong.  I cannot pay $20,000 and was certainly never given anything close to that figure in any of my pre-surgery meetings!
