Ground turkey squashghetti ... ground turkey in homemade fresh tomato and basil sauce over spaghetti squash...

Squashghetti and turkeyballs ...

Charbroiled bunless turkey cheeseburgers...

Cheesey groundturkey jalapeño poppers...

Ground turkey whole wheat tortilla pizza ... (pre-cooked ground turkey, mushrooms, onions, mozzarella, marinara spread over a whole wheat tortilla and baked in oven)

You can do anything with ground turkey that you can with ground beef.

I make a mean Taco Soup with ground turkey.  I put a 1 pound to 1 1/2 pound in the crockpot.  I don't brown mine first - I know it sounds crazy - but it works for me.  You could brown it if you want too!  Then I put in 2 cans of diced tomatoes (I use the Mexican Diced tomatoes from our local store), 2 cans of beans (I use one can black beans, one can pinto beans with jalapeno), 1 can of green diced chilles, 1 cup of water, 1 package of Ranch salad dressing dried powder mix, and 1 package of taco powder.  I throw all that together in the crockpot on low for 8 hours and leave it.  When I come home it is done and delicious!  I eat it as soup, but the teenagers drain the juice off of it and put it over tortilla chips and eat it like nachos with cheese, black olives, sour cream, etc. on top of it.  It is a crowd pleaser and makes quite a bit of food!

I'm originally from New Orleans and their is this wonderful family restaurants and they developed a low carb cookbook called Sugar Bust for life.  The meatballs and spaghetti in the book is made from veal but I've changed it up a bit and used ground turkey and changed the vegetable oil to olive oil.  Its absolutely marvelous and can be served over spaghetti squash or whole wheat or brown rice pasta.  It freezes beautifully but I would recommend doubling the sauce when cooking.  The bread crumbs are made from Triscuits and whole wheat flower.  Attached is the link to purchase the cookbook but if you want the recipe, I'll try to type it up for you.  Just send me a message.

If you get Mann's broccoli slaw in your area there's a recipe for "confetti meatballs" on the package (or you can go to their website to get it).  Super easy and tasty.  I probably increase the Parmesan and use real garlic instead of garlic salt, but it is very yummy and goes with everything.  Easy to pop one or two in a to go container for lunch or throw in sauce for dinner.

We use ground chicken the 99% fat free but you can do the same with ground ff turkey.  I make the yummiest whole wheat taco's, the ff meat tends to be dry so I add the taco seasoning and extra water.  We use the whole wheat taco's, fat free cheese, fat free source cream, lettuce, tomato and salsa.  Absolutely to die for.
