NYP reports Chris Christie had lapband surgery
I don't have any problems with you guys "warning" people about issues before they get surgeries, whichever one they get is fine with me. The Governor of New Jersey made his decision....move on. That's my point...He didn't come here and he didn't seek Your advice. So be happy for him, wish him well and move on... If he ever comes on here and tells us about his problems tell him you wish he'd had asked you first.... What's tthe matter with you people was ment to mean...HE GOT A LAPBAND!! What is he supposed to do now rip it out to make you happy ??
I don't even know how you would know what my opinion is, but it relly doesn't matter, you don't have to tell me.
That's all.....

He made his decision, but it also has an impact on everyone else. Look at all the insurance companies who are refusing to remove bands... and saying, "One shot, that's it." I can't blame the insurance companies. They know that the band will have to come out. Why would they want to pay for that... over and over? Every time someone chooses a band without doing enough research, it affects every other person. It's their right to choose the band, but I definitely think that they're doing the rest of the population a disservice in doing so. I hope that he does well. But the statistics say that even if he does lose weight, it's not a lifetime solution... and hopefully he won't end up being harmed by it.

He didn't ask me when he went to Disney world while the people of NJ were getting pounded by a blizzard either, but I had something to say about that too. He is a public figure, that has put his surgery out all over the news. If you can't participate in a discussion about it without resorting to a finger wagging tirade, maybe you should avoid this topic.

GOOD FOR HIM, Now leave him alone !!! What is the matter with you people ????
I missed it, who is bothering him? Where is he posting?
I fully admit I have a concern here, if this is the grand total of his research skills for a major medical procedure, what are his skills at researching for his job??
Well, I'll tell what's the matter with me:
I have diaphragmatic damage from the band, causing referred left shoulder pain. I have gastritis, a hiatal hernia, adhesions and esophageal issues from the band. And I'm tired of watching people suffer with the same complications because the band manufacturers are full of it.
The band is the worst. And hopefully he won't be horribly damaged like so many of us have been. I truly hope he's successful. He chose a really bad surgery, however. It's a damned shame that someone didn't talk him out of it.

I believe the news said that his surgeon had the lap band and a couch he knows had the lap so he went with what they had said I don't think he really did any research if he did he should have picked a different surgery.
I am very happy for him, I wish him well. Everyone makes their own choice. I am glad he realized it before it was to late.![]()
I have had my lap-band since 4/30/2007 I never had a big problem with it. I went from 325 lbs down to 160 lbs but I went back up because I got sick and then had double hip surgery...I am now at 185 lbs and very happy and content.
Awesome news, Joanne. I am glad to hear you are doing well.
