Woo-hoo! Approved!
Grats! That's a great feeling, when the insurance finally comes through. I hope everything goes great for you from here forward.

That sounds great! I hope I do as well as you. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain, usually. At the moment, my left knee is killing me, a 5 at rest, at 7-8 when weight bearing, worse than ever before. I've had multiple cortisone shots and Supartz injections, including one cortisone shot Dec 4 AND a prednisone dose-pak. It's so bad now that I'm using a cane full-time and taking Percocet. I went to see my PCP today and she offered me another steroid dose-pak, but the WLS surgeon nixed that since I'm 12 days away from surgery. My ortho has a cancellation in the morning, so I'm going to take that opportunity to talk to him about doing surgery ASAP after the WLS next month. I am sick to death of dealing with this knee.
I hope that your knee will improve as your weight goes down! I too have knee pain, but not nearly as high as yours. As far as the VSG pain, it was never higher then a 5 or 6 for me. I was on a morphine pump when I woke up from surgery and for 2 days after. When I went home I had liquid pain killer which I took as needed at home. I haven't taken anything for pain since 12/16/13 which is 1 week after surgery.
