Fat Clothes
UGH!!! My tablet keeps deleting my posts!! Grrr.... trying again.
Did any of you save your fat clothes after you reached your goal? I have given away my larger clothes (sizes 22-28) but I have 4 huge garbage bags of clothes (sizes 20-16) in the corner of my room that I can't seem to part with. I am a size 14 now and plan on getting down to a 12 at least, if not 10. I don't plan on needing them but what if...?
A woman in my support group has lost 200 pounds and been at goal for 6 years and she said she still has all her fat clothes in the garage. I guess maybe her comments are sticking with me. Should I keep at least one bag just in case or purge it all?
Suggestions??

I would get rid of them. There are tons of charities that are low on clothing items for plus sized women. Look in your area for organizations that help women in need and do not resell the clothing. Or, send them to me lol!
I am 3 days post-op and currently in a 26 and will need some! But seriously, get rid of them and give to someone in need of them!
Congrats on your weight loss.
Get rid of them but save 1 pair of jeans for a reminder picture to see how far you have come. Some ideas: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2009/04/very- cool-clothing-swap-meet-ups.html
Purge them all today. It would be too easy to fall back into them if they are there. I am cheap. When my clothes get too tight, I think "****!! I do not have the money for new clothes" so I lose the weight. I have one super fitting jeans with no stretch to them that are my guide. If they are too tight, I need to lose a few pounds.
I'll admit I do have a few clothes one size bigger that I need to get rid of. I will do that today.
I did not get rid of any clothes until I had lost 100 pounds. Then I remodeled my closet top to bottom (stripped out everything, painted, and put in a fancy cherry system). No way my fat clothes were going back in there.

Get rid of those damn things NOW - Goodwill, a women's shelter, ANYTHING. Why have that psychological "back up plan"??? Why allow yourself to even CONSIDER "what if"?? No way Jose'! It's like you're preparing to fail! Dump 'em now and don't look back. IF you need slightly larger clothes at some time in your life, buy some IF that happens - but plan on it NOT happening.
