Really depends on your insurance, I have United Healthcare and it took one day for approval. Hang in there, it feels like forever. You can always call and check on the status!

One day. That has to be a record. So you must have got a verbal notification in advance of the letter.

Yes, actually I called my Insurance to check the status and they didnt receive anything (4 days after my surgeon said they submitted it). So I called my surgeons office and they faxed over everything again, at the end of that day I called my insurance again to make sure they received it and they said yes and it has been approved!
