It is not surprising - you get some crazy posts in here with what nutritionist advise.

Personally- if I'm not really hungry but want something- i will eat 1/2 bar. BUT it doesn't satisfy me the way some chicken would. so maybe switch the bar for lean protein when you are 'hungry'. Sometimes when i eat 1/2 a bar, i have to put the other 1/2 away or I will be tempted to eat it in one sitting.

I've stalled at 6 months for about 3 weeks. stay the course, measure your food and log it. it will break if you are staying under 800 and getting fluids in

This may sounds smart assy and I do not mean it that way, but telling myself this helps: hunger is not an emergency.

For some reason, it always has been treated like one in my own experience. Good luck!

Not smart assy at all lol. I guess I should try and find ways to get past the hunger. I think for me it's cause I get a little nauseated and feel like I need a bite of something. Obviously it's not helping me though.

One thing I've noticed is that as I work my way down often I've had to change the numbers calorie wise, as well as carbs & protein & water. Often I had to up the protein & water while decreasing the carbs & calories, or some other kind of combination.

It could be that your body has become so sensitive to carbs that even a small amount would cause a stall, or maybe your body maintains at 800 rather than lose. I've also heard that the closer you are to your goal weight, your body slows down when it comes to losing, & if you were a lightweight to begin with it might be slow going anyway.

Hope your stall breaks soon.

I have to say the water thing is STILL a struggle for me. Has been since day one which is odd because that's all I drank before I had surgery, and lots of it. Now I will go all day and realize, shoot - I haven't even had a sip. Not good, I know!

I agree with basically what everyone else said. I read through what you wrote above about the 800 calories (which is what I aim for - 800 and below daily). And with that you should be able to lose I would think. I try to be below that as much as possible but don't beat myself up if I'm over that on a random weekend if I go out to eat and have a bigger portion of fish or something.

BUT at home if you seriously want to get past the 62 pounds and make your goal you HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO weight, measure, track everything right now. I don't know how else you can get past this point. For me I can't eat carbs because I can't do a little - it's all or nothing so if I eat some I will eat ALL THE CARBS lol. So I would cut out carbs, no bread, no rice, no pasta, no potatoes.

If you're going to eat a protein bar - awesome, but include that in your 800 totals for the day. Or find a lower calorie bar. And include that one in your total. You're only 6 months out, you can still lose more, but you need to be more strict if you want to get to your goal

Good luck!

I don't eat rice, potatoes, or pasta but I have had the occasional quinoa and higher protein tortilla. I don't do that daily though because I know the carbs are not good.

I really appreciate everyone's advice and taking it all in and going to make some modifications which will hopefully kick start the weight loss again. Thank you all!!!

I'm only 3 months out but I have to chime in here about what seems to be such a hard line about carbs being evil.

I think every body is different, and how we process carbs has a lot to do with activity level, genetics, etc. Before surgery, if I tried to workout on a very low carb diet I would get dizzy. I needed those carbs! I also have a difficult time thinking that we'll gain weight at over 800 calories a day. That sounds dangerous to me.

I know things are different post surgery, but for one, I'm looking forward to the day I can add more calories. I can tell I'm not operating on all cylinders at such a low calorie level.

Not meaning to criticize but asking for clarity. If I can add any suggestions I would suggest try upping your water intake. That sometimes makes the difference for me.

Thanks!
