is wanting a pair of high stilletto heeled boots, cuz I am bringing quite a few pair to give away at the clothes exchange. So if you are a size 8 and want some boots, come see me in Lexington. I am even giving away the famous pink newsprint boots. I have so many pair I have to make some room in my closets. I have a few pairs of black, the pink ones, a brown pair and a white multi coloured pair.
Can't wait for Friday.

What made you decide on surgery? I was diabetic for almost 2 years and knew that I could no longer lose weight and it was my only hope of not developing complications from my diabetes
How long was your pre-op program? I called for the initial seminar in August of 2004 and had surgery in April of 2005

What was your BMI at the time of surgery? around 46
Have you reached your goal weight/BMI yet? yes bmi of 25.8 currently with a weight of 154
How long has it taken you? 18 months
What is your greatest accomplishment since surgery? getting rid of my diabetes meds and most of my arthritis pain
What is your greatest dissapointment since surgery? the skin uggghhhh tt is in alittle over a week

Or find new family, friends and co-workers. lol lol I never heard one negative word. And I told absolutely everyone. But then again when I said I didnt want to die like my mother taking 5 shots a day for her diabetes at age 61 there wasn't much they could say.

I know this isnt meant to be funny but it is to everyone who has first date rules like you and I. I know myself I look for a million little things on the first dinner date, like opening the door for me, pulling out the chair for me, or sitting down only after I am seated. When it comes to eating, I won't date a man who eats less then I do. I once had a date with a guy who ordered a deli sandwich and immediately had half boxed up as it was sooooo huge. That was a turn off. Yeah its a super huge double standard on my part, but I want my man to be able to eat well like a man. lol My other rules are of course the who how nicely do they eat, eating with their mouth open totally grosses me out. Same for talking with visible food in their mouth. I enjoy great conversation, I like to be engaged and looked at, not with a man who stares at every waitress who walks by. I have had many many many bad first dates, that I never even told what the problem was, just said I wasn't interested. Of course the bill thing is important also, he needs to not only pay but to tip very well. Nothing is worse then a cheap man. Every time I eat out with Doug I tell him I am gonna start waiting tables so he can tip me, hes in the 30-40% bracket. I am super duper picky about everything so you can imagine dating me isn't a picnic at all. But when I do connect we have a blast together, Doug and I always have a great time at dinner.

Why do you think it will be more bad news? As long as you are taking your vitamins and supplements you will be fine. I hate bloodtests, especially needles and yet I had mine tested and everything was great. My pcp said she wished her levels were as good as mine, she would be jumping for joy. I know how badly I want plastic surgery because I recently had a blood test for that, and it went very easily. I used to be a terrible stick, 5 tries and multiple visits, now is a cinch. Go get your blood work, worst case scenario is you have to take more vitamins or proteins supplements.

To quote a dear friend Sherry Weber, who I haven't seen on the boards in ages, I say it was my only way out. For me this surgery was easy, almost too easy, too easy to get complacent. I have to remind myself everyday where I came from so I don't go back there. I still love to eat, I suppose that will never go away, but losing weight is addictive and when that all stops is when I am worried. But for now I am thriving on losing the last 4 lbs to be normal.

Just remember there are people on this board who are reading our posts who will never have surgery and will die from the complications from obesity. You have been given a gift of life, use it to its full advantage, I know its hard to see things on your body you don't want to see, but we all have our own deamons in the mirror. Good health and life are worth it.

I think I had a wow moment today, my company is doing a marketing campaign and I was asked to model as a babyboomer womyn paired up with our finance director as my husband. I was speechless, I mean its not often that the fat girl gets asked to model, and in my mind I still think people view me the way I was. I started to say no and the marketing director said you are so beautiful, please do it. How could I say no to that. Now I have to go shopping for a new outfit. Pretty amazing stuff this wls.

Lets see if I understand this, your husband is giving up sleep to drive you to your doctors appts and see his family then turn around and come home and then take off more time and take you to Lexington so you can meet all of us? And you aren't kissing this man and kneeling at his feet and telling him what a god he is? Hes making the sacrifice not you, he wants to do something nice for you and and see his family. The guys a peach dont give him **** over it. Gesh.

If only wls came with an unlimited credit card, that would be too kewl. I love silver jewelry also, I have a silver charm bracelet that belonged to my mother. I need to have it resized as it literally falls off now if I try to wear it. I hope you get the funds to pick yourself up something nice. Shopping is definately fun.

I just can't seem to keep myself out of the malls, today was a rainy morning and Doug and I went for an early breakfast then we were looking for something to do. Mind you this is my last day off between now and Lexington, so I chose shopping of course. There is this beautiful mall that we had never been to in Providence RI. It is incredible to walk around a mall and feel like you actually can fit in the clothes and look good, I only bought a pair of boots, and justified them with the Lexington trip because otherwise I wouldnt be able to justify 150 for boots. I generally buy everything on sale but these I just had to have. They are over the knee boots and they just got them in today. Just too cute, I have to make an outfit to wear them with now, perhaps more shopping is in my future. And to add to my good fortune I ate in the food court and had some authentic Indian food with loads of curry and it was great and my stomach loved it too. Ahhhhhh another great day at the mall.

I am bringing some boots and perhaps some clothes also. I am not sure how much I will swell with plastics, but I do have some size 14's I want rid of. If I don't have them hopefully I can never get that big again.
On another note, I have a picture slide show I want to add to My Story on my new profile but it wont take it. Can you help me? I know you are a pro at this stuff.

Personally I buy what I like, and yup shop in the juniors dept frequently. I so can't see myself in some of the fashions supposably made for womyn my age. I asked my boyfriend the other day if those were the clothes I was supposed to be wearing and he just laughed at me. He thought Chico's was a riot, I just can't dress like that. I waited too long to be on this side of the single digits and I will be damned if I am gonna look like an old fart. Boots are really a girls best friend.
