Medicare paid for my DS revision, no problems.  The DS is an approved medicare surgery if you qualify as far as morbid obesity and comorbidities.  You just have to go through the hoops and get it at a center of excellence.

IV steroids worked wonders for me.  Really consider prednisone or the like.  IV will be easier on your tummy.

I use almost 2 grams a day of curcumin for my RA and it works for me.  I'm post op DS though, not RNY.

My rheumie just upped my dosage from 5 to 7 per week.  So far no hair loss.  At one time, prior to WLS, I was on max dose of 10 per week for a couple of years and had no hair loss.

I checked with my RNY doc and he approved my taking the celebrex even though it is an NSAID--said that it is ok for me to take...  It could be because of the dosage that I take.  I guess it varies from doc to doc.  As always check with your doc.

I had RNY and need surgery on my big toe due to osteoarthritis.  My foot doc asked me if I could take Celebrex...  so is that considered okay with RNY?

Thanks!
