Is the surgeon one of those who can do a stomach reconstruct, then sleeve, for the top half of the DS, or are you going to be left with a pouch? If so, you'l actually have a distal RNY or extended(ERNY) , same eating plan as a regular RNY, but with DS-like malabsorption.
You are going to be amazed! Welcome to the DS Tribe! I lost my first 60 pounds the first month post-op!
But then, I had a *whole* lot of weight to get rid of.
That was the greatest time! I always try to stop by there for breakfast or lunch when I'm in the area!
I had crappy labs after my Mom passed, the result of 6 months of half-azzing on my part
I was ready for a "butt chew", but both she and the PA were so understanding. I'm expecting to have really good labs next month, I'm off schedule though, another death in the family. This will be one of my last three visits of my five-year follow.
I've heard a couple patients who told me they didn't have to do a five year follow with her. Did you?
I know, isn't she the best?? We actually had dinner together at Maxine's. You've probably forgotten me.
We have the same surgeon! I'm due to come down for an office visit next month! I'm way north of her office!
Welcome to the DS Tribe!
Prepare to be amazed!
Are you a revision or brand new DS?
That's Great, Kim!
I was 405 at my highest , 397 on surgery day and I bounce around between 170 and 180 now. When I get excess thigh skin and fat deposits removed, that will be another estimated 15 pounds, around 165 after everything settles.
Don't forget to give yourself credit for what you've done! You've come a long way!
