Topic: Uggg! Not feeling well!
Hi everyone! I am about 6 weeks post op right now. Over the last week or two, I have been experiencing light headedness, low blood pressure, feelings of stabbing pain in the stomach and muscle stiffness on the abdominal muscles. I am not sure if I should be concerned or not. I almost passed out the other day when I went for my walk. Don't worry, I made back to the house okay.

Has anyone had any of these issues? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have an appointment to see the surgeon in two weeks.


Update 06/21/12: I did call the dr's office and was admitted to the hospital. They gave me IV fluids and ran a whole bunch of tests. There definitely was no blockage and blood work was fine. I was discharged this afternoon. Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement.
Taking it one day at a time.

Topic: AN AWESOME FUN WORKOUT ... FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TOO
  Hula hooping ... it is an awesome workout and a year ago I shared a how-to link on a group I used to have on here....

Of course for it to work best a fitness hula hoop at a sports store is the best kind to have and if you don't want to spend $$ you can make your own and several others .... WOW .. with only one roll of tubing I made awesome weighted hulas and decorated them for family, friends and the awesome youth at church and at the outreach center where I volunteer...

This is the link for how to make hula hoops and  ALL the materials are found at your local hardware store .. I spent less than $40 bucks and made hulas galore ... and still make them when asked.  I weight my hulas with steelies and water ... and have an awesome work out ....

I made these last year ... I even made several recently as the weather is warming up for friends who like to hula on the beach .... hmmmmmmm I may just do that later.... heading out to Zumba with my daughter again this morning ... then to the house of praise ... and then to RELAX .. maybe on the beach.... I did a 5 mile run early this morning ... that morning run gives me a surge of energy for the rest of the day....

Topic: A date and a dare with my "OTHER MAN"
Yup... I did ... I went out on a date and accepted a dare  ... that is... the other man in the house ... the one I "made" and love more than I love myself ... he is handsome and sweet most of the times and a major PITA at other times but overall ... with all his issues (and they are many) .. he is a good son and I would trade him for none other...  I forgot to tell you, this young man is my artsy fartsy child ..just like me.. whereas my daughter 4 years his senior is industrious and an awesome business woman ..hmm just like me too LOL ... both of them are adults ... both of them are tall ... and they both have an ongoing love hate relationship with each other as in everlasting sibling rivalry LOL and they all live in our big house ... although independently in their own quarters...

So this morning and afternoon I was totally busy backing my DD at Zumba at 3 different studios ... we had a session at 9:15, another one at 11:30 and another at 1:00 pm ... by the time I got home I was drenched ..my clothes totally wet with sweat despite changing clothes in between sessions and was sooooooooooo beat as in TIRED ... I was so not expecting to get asked out on a date by my son ... lawd I was TIRED ... but he asked and as I started to turn him down his big green eyes and dufus look that he gives me when he wants something just melted my heart. This goofy boy stole my heart from the moment he kicked in my womb ... and when I saw him after my c-section that was it ... stole my heart forever... just like my DD ... these two grown kids of mine are my world .. and they know it .. and they take advantage of it sometimes to the point I have tell them 'get out of my face and space for a moment please' LOL... so tired as I was I could not say no....

My son asked me out to the Festival of Arts and Ideas and sure why not? I am glad I went and I so thoroughly enjoyed myself ... compounded with the morning and afternoon exercise I added miles of walking and strolling and having fun ... with the other man in the house ... my son...

He had to keep telling all who asked that I was his mom... they won't believe him... LOL....

Many on here have met him IRL as he is always tagging along with me to meet and greets and events and such because I DO NOT PUMP GAS ... YIKES I REFUSE TO PUMP GAS ... I don't want to get the mess on my hands and am afraid of the pumps go figure.

I cannot believe this goofy kid DARED me to hula hoop on the green with these gals that were hula hooping and dufus goes up to them and tells them that his mom (me) makes hula hoops and loves to hula hoop ... One of the gals comes over with this small light hula hoop and I take the dare KNOWING that I do not work with these light weight hulas ... 

 The lightweight hula just was not 'woiking' LOL... but the heavier one did as in the above pic...

I fill my hoops with water and steely weights .... Again my son dares me ... and as the apple did not fall far from the tree and I am just as goofy or goofier than him .. why not... don't dare your goofy mom cause you may just lose your last $1 ..and I took it too LOL... and rocked the heavier hula and it did not drop ... I did it around my waist, head, legs and arms too LOL...

I would have never done this at my highest weight of 327 pounds ... I used to love hula all the way up to my young adulthood but then life happened and then obesity and morbid obesity came along and somehow someway hula was not heard of again ... until I incorporated it to my workout ... until I started making my very own hulas that I shared on here a year or so ago...

Seriously he dares me and has his eyes on the gal LOL....

We then went on a stroll from the Green to all the stores in the area and we bought a few extra prezzies for DH .... so after 3 sessions of zumba ... farting around at the festival and enjoying some awesome Jazz ... we strolled around me in high sandals go figure ... more exercise YAY .. exercise all around ...

my puree stage includes cream of wheat, cream soups ,grits, sugar free shakes, protein pudding all should be watery enough to pour and yogurt  oh yea baby food must of these things are carbs and I'm not ready to put carbs back into my diet I've been eating Greek yogurt once a day can't wait til next week mushies here I come

 Do you have myfitnesspal?  I love it because you can use the phone app or log your foods/exercise on the computer.  It helps me keep track of my protein/calories and keeps me more accountable for my meals.  I log in all of my meals there and you can see them if you add me on there.. My myfitnesspal name is msohsooo.

But at any rate I tend to eat a lot of tuna and shrimp because they're high in protein.  I also try to thrown in a shake if I'm not anywhere near meeting my protein goal. I try to go by the rule of drinking 1 bottle of water (16.9-20 oz), wait 30 mins to an hour, and then have a meal/snack.  does it always work out that way? No.  But I do try!

 My pureed stage included mushies.  Yogurt, refried beans, etc.  Heck, I was eating a few spoons of chili chewed really well in that stage also.  What does your nutritionist consider pureed foods?
