Alright guys. It is technically Saturday here in NJ. It is 12:33am and I am wide awake. I am excited however because Conan O'Brian is about to come on and I think he is so stinking funny. I hope that everyone is having a blessed 2006 so far. Mine has been all over the place, but God is making new windows of opportunity daily. Isn't He awesome? ok, I'm a little rusty on QOD; it's been about 2 weeks since I did a roll call. Let's see what I can think of.... 1. Name a stonghold in your bc (before Christ) life that you have been delivered from. 2. When you were a child did you like your name? If not, what did you wi**** was? 3. If you are married, how old were you when you "tied the knot"? 4. How many bibles (roughly) do you own? Where are they? My answers~ 1. Foul language. I used to talk like a sailor. 2. I hated my name. I wanted it to be Renee. 3. 19 4. easily 20 or more. We have 11 just here in my basement in our study. Then there are 2 in the living room, 2 in the bedroom, and 3 in my car. I know that we have others floating around also. We have every version too. Have a GREAT Saturday! Love in Christ, Dawn 2 more days

I can hardly believe that I have actually made it to a roll call in the A.M. It is 12:07 am here in Missouri so it is Sat. morning, technically. My response to the QOD: Name a stronghold in your bc ( before Christ) life that you have been delivered from. I have been delivered from the feelings of bitterness, rage, insecurity, anger, and self-loathing that filled me after my uncle sexually molested me. This year I was delivered from the fear of attracting attention to myself by having a smaller size body. When you were a child did you like your name? If not, what did you wi**** was? No I did not like my name. I wi**** was Katherine ( like Katherine Hepburn one of my favorite actresses). I would have loved the nickname Katie. 3. If you are married, how old were you when you "tied the knot"? I was 20 years old when I "tied the knot" the first time. I was 34 when I "tied the knot" the second time. We have been married 10.5 years. 4. How many bibles (roughly) do you own? Where are they? I am not really sure since I add to my collection all the time. I have some special Bibles such as 1) my grandmother's Bible and great-grandmother's Bibles that are on the bookcase above the headboard to my bed. 2)I have the two Bibles( at age 16 and age 44) my father gave me located on the same bookcase. 3) I have the Bible my husband gave me on our first anniversary, same bookcase & the Comparative Parellel Bible he gave me on my birthday. 4) I have the New Testament (which I carry in my purse) that my youngest daughter gave me on Mother's Day when she was seven years old. 5)I have the Children's Ministry Bible which I received when I was a field worker with Child Evangelism Ministry in South Central Missouri, same bookcase mentioned before. 6) I have my husband's coverless Max Lucado Bible sitting next to the computer. I love the aroma of the garage which permeates it. I feel closer to my husband because of that smell. 7) my Bible which is laying on my husband's side of the bed since he is gone. 8) my prophecy Bible which is on a shelf in the computer room 9) the Bible I used before my husband gave me a new Bible is on the bookcase above my bed. I think I might have a few others but I can't remember where they are. I also have not counted my son and daughter's Bibles. We have several versions also. Great questions, Dawn. Prayers are going up for your successful surgery. Kathy from MO

Hi Dawn and all you dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Well, technically it is only 11:30 p.m. on the west coast, but since it's Saturday in the other times zones, I'm going for it! I just finished cutting my DH's hair, so while he bathes, I'm writing. It's been a good day today, and I hope to see my family...sons, grandsons, etc. this weekend. I saw the orthopedist this morning (Friday), and he basically said that the only thing that will help ease the pain in my shoulders and arms is time. He said it takes 1-2 years to get things back to where they were before the flare-up, so I already have 9 months out of the way! Yes, I am the kind of person who thinks the glass is half full! Anyway, the good news is that I can discontinue physical therapy and just heal in God's time. Thank you all for your prayers. I so appreciate you, and that's what is going to help get me well. Well, I'm getting sleepy even if you aren't, Dawn, so I'm going to answer your questions, then go to bed. Thanks for posting them. You're almost on the losing side of life, Dawn. Sure am praying for you and your family. ANSWERS: 1. Name a stonghold in your bc (before Christ) life that you have been delivered from. Fear of being alone. He will never leave me nor forsake me. Thank you, Father. 2. When you were a child did you like your name? If not, what did you wi**** was? No. My real name is Margaret, which seemed so old fashioned to me when I was growing up. It is my aunt's name, but I was always called Peg or Peggy by my family. My DH goes by his middle name. At our wedding, I had to say, "I, Margaret, take thee..." and then say his first name. I think half the congregation wondered if they were at the right wedding! It gets old having to explain to new people, especially my healthcare professionals, that I go by Peggy, not Margaret, when I fill out an application. I have grown to like the name Margaret, but I've been called Peggy too long to answer to anything else. 3. If you are married, how old were you when you "tied the knot"? I got married at 18 years and 3 months. That was over 38 years ago. If you did your math correctly, you should have figured out that I am 56 years old and very grateful to be alive. Thank you, dear Jesus! 4. How many bibles (roughly) do you own? Where are they? I have never counted them. I read out of a couple of them. I got alot of use out of my Bible on tape when I commuted. God bless you all, and have a great weekend. Love, Peg

Good morning Dawn and All! It really is Sat morning now. I just finished making the kids breakfast. In a little bit I am going to take them to the park. They don't know it though so it should be a nice surprise for them. I have been out for a while preparing for and taking the Sergeant's Assessment center. We did exercises for three days in front of a panel of assessors on different tactical and problem solving scenarios. The grades we get on this will be added to our written test scores and the final score will determine our rank to be promoted off the list. It's all in God's hands now. The final list should come out within the next two weeks. Wait wait wait. I am so glad its over now though and I can get back to a "normal" life. I have missed you all so much over the last couple of weeks. I was shocked to read about Randall's wife. I can't believe all this has been going on in my absence. Well on to QOD: 1. its hard to remember what strongholds I had as a teenager. But I do remember having a great need for approval of others. I think this is an area that God is still delivering me from today but I can see great improvement. 2. Yes I also hated my name. I have grown to like it now though. For a while, I did shorten it to just "jac" thus the screen name. A lot of people still call me Jac but now I usually introduce myself as Jacinda. 3. Well gang. I was 19 the first time I tied the knot. My first marriage ended in divorce after 7 years. I have taken full responsibility for this with God and have repented for going through with the sin of divorce. He has since blessed me with another husband who I married at the age of 30. He has also blessed me with my 2 kids. Now that is grace! 4. Dawn...I think this question was a message to me from God. I also have more Bibles than I can count. I do not allow myself to buy them anymore. Here I have all these bibles sitting around the house and there are many people all over the world who do not have access to even one bible. God has put it on my heart that I need to by Bibles for all the people in other countries that do not access a bible. Specifically China. The Christian radio station I listen to often has a program where you can send a certain amount of money to buy a certain number of bibles printed in Chinese. This is one of those things that God laid on my heart to do that I have put off. Thanks for the reminder. Thanks for the questions. I hope you all have a great day! Love, Jacinda

Hi Dawn! I can't believe Mon is the 16th already. I am so excited for you! I will be praying for you, your doctor, and your family!! 1. hmmm, well goodness what hasn't he delivered me from? Let's see when I was a teenager and into my early twenties I smoked off and on, and drank just to get drunk. I wanted to rebel, and I did. When I was 21 or 22 God spoke to me and reminded me of His love and faithfulness and I had to choose, I could no longer live a double life!! Praise God I chose Him! 2. I have always liked my name, I was named after two of my mothers best friends...Candace Elizabeth is my real name , lots of people just call me Candy 3.I was 26 when I married my wonderful Mexican husband 27 when I had my first child, 28 for the second (Mexicans don't waist any time ) 4.I would say we have at least ten or more, Spanish and English, several versions, two baby bibles in the baby bag, couple in the minivan, beside the bed, on the book shelf. Love you all! God is good all the time!! Have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Happy Saturday...... 1. After my dad died (when I was 12) I held some resentment toward God for allowing his death......this was true at each early milestone in my life....my dad wasn't there to walk down the aisle with me when I married.... he wasn't there to hold my children.....but thankfully, my heavenly Father was there, faithful and never leaving me during my moments of bitterness. 2. I was okay with my name growing up....Frankly, I never really thought much about it. I never had a problem with someone else having the exact name..... 3. I was 22 when I married...DH was 23. 4. Since my husband and I were in ministry for 20 yrs.+ we have many, many Bibles and different translations....even Bibles in Spanish. I have my grandfather's Bible which is 65 years old, my grandmother's Bible which is 52 years old and my mother's last Bible she owned. It is a priviledge to read from these Bibles the verses that were important to them (they did a lot of underlining and referencing). Occasionally a Bible might end up in a yard sale and if someone asks "how much"....I always say...."The Word is free...the Price has been paid by Jesus."...and that always leads to a wonderful witnessing opportunity. I hope everyone has a great weekend and that whatever you do and whereever you go, I pray you are blessed beyond measure. luvitsunnyv

Hi Dawn and Everyone else, I hope you are all having a wonderful Christ filled day. I am trying to spend less time on the computer, and more time with My God and Savior. That's why I'm not here all the time anymore. Maybe I will just look in once a day to check on request for prayer, and roll call. I will continue to pray for your surgery on Monday Dawn. It's nice to see you back Jacinda. May God bless you all Love ya, Annette 1. Name a stonghold in your bc (before Christ) life that you have been delivered from. The Lord Has brought me a very long way in the almost 10 years since I've surrendered my life to him. Thank you Father for your mercy and grace, And for the new life you brought me into. I love you Lord. 2. When you were a child did you like your name? If not, what did you wi**** was? No I wanted my name to be Angie or Tina or Marie. I now like my name very much. We lived together for a year before, and stayed married for 24 years. divorced for 3 when he died. 4. How many bibles (roughly) do you own? Where are they? I personally own 1 n.i.v. Goodmorning everyone! I am here for the last time, I thin****il after my surgery. There are lots of things to get done today in preparing for the big day. This evening my DH is taking me out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, and we will have a quiet evening together. Tomorrow we head up to Boise to my daughter's and son-in-law's where will spend the night and go to the hosp. from there in the morning. Please pray that Dawn and myself, and all others having surgery that day will be under God's loving care and supervision. I have had a bit of a tickle in my throat, and burning in my nose. Please pray this is only temporary, and will not interfere with the surgery or recovery! QOD #1. It says in Hebrews, " I will never leave you nor forsake you". At 8 y/o, in a chaotic home in many ways, always with threats of divorce in the air,...That promise was so personal and reassuring to me!!! #2. My given name is Kathrine Marie, after various grandmothers and others. I love the name, but never liked it shortened to Kathy, Would have liked Katy or Katrina, which is often the German form. But it never happened except for one boy in high school, who always called me Katy. I loved it, and never knew why he did, but I have never forgotten his name, nor the times he walked me home from school! #3. My father asked me to promise him that I would not marry until I was 20 or older. How could I not make that promise to my dear Dad? I turned 20 on May 15, and was married on 7 june!! John was 24. That was 36 years ago, and we're still going strong!! #4. I have never counted them, but there are many! I have one of every translation for study, King James version is my favorite, tho, for study and memorizing. I buy Bibles regularly to give out to my S.S. kids, to keep in the classroom for visitors, for gifts. Just got about 20 of the pocket New Testament and Psalms/Proverbs from the Gideons to pass out and give my kids for their backpack at school. Also have some ancestral (sp?) Bibles. We are so blessed here in America, when some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are being killed if found in possession of the Word!! We should not only be grateful and faithful in reading the Word, but memorizing it too, against the day we may face the same fate, or be in a situation where we do not have access to it. "I will hide God's word in my heart, that I might not sin against God" Love it!!!!! So where are mine? All over, and moving all the time. I try to Always have a New Testament and Psalms in my purse. Well, I am going to sign off now until post-op. I love each one of you, and thank-you for your prayers and well-wishes!! They mean so much to me!!! I am uplifted and encouraged and at peace, Thank you Jesus!! Love in Christ, Kathrine Marie, Katy.
