*~*~*Wednesday's Roll call*~*~*

Hello everyone! I've missed all of you. I haven't been able to come to the board since there has been many changes here at work. I now have internet access at home, but won't be able to come to the board until the evenings when I get home. I really do hope and pray that these changes that are going on here at work are for the good. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm still hurting from my back but not as bad as last week. I tried to make memory and remember why it was hurting. I then remembered that 2 1/2 weeks ago we went ice skating after our Sunday service. I almost fell twice and that caused me to pull a muscle on my left side under my shoulder. Friday evening after being in so much pain I called a friend (who is a Doctor) and he told me to come by his office and gave me some Celebrex and some Flexeril. They did help but made very drowsy. I did visit my PCP on Monday and he also confirmed that I had pulled a muscle and gave me a prescription that I still need to go pick up at the pharmacy. Well enough about me...here are the Questions of the Day: 1. What is your opinion about people who "cheat" on their spouse? I think it's horrible! This question came to my mind because I was watching TV last night and saw this show (it's called cheaters) on how a woman was cheating on her husband. My thought is, if you are not happy and can't make him happy, then let him go so he can find someone who will make him happy. 2. Do you have a childhood "best friend"? If so, who is he/she? Yes, I do. Well, I have 2. The first one is my sister Lillie. She is someone I admire 100%. She's a widow and raising 3 children on her own. Something I feel it takes a lot of courage to do. She's there for my 2 nephews and niece always. Goes to school meetings, takes them to basketball practice, takes them to their games, one right after another. She's a strong woman who has also always been there for me. When she moved out of my parents home I cried like a baby. I used to cry every night for her when I went to bed. I remember she used to hug me tight from behind and we would fall asleep together. She said it was a way of keeping each other warm in that cold trailer we grew up in. I went to visit her this past weekend (she lives in Dallas) and after breakfast Sunday morning I got up to wash the dishes and she hugged me from behind and yelled out to my mom,..... mom, mom!! Look. I can hug her now!! Letty is so small I can hugs her now!! Awww, my sister. I love her so much and I always make sure she knows how special she is to me. The second one is Lori. I love this woman so MUCH too!! There's a picture of her and I on my profile. Her and I have been through a lot together. Even though we live 5 hours away, we always keep in touch. 3. What is your prayer request today? Mine is healing and peace of mind. I have been at my job almost 5 years and with the changes going on, I feel uncomfortable. I don't like being somewhere where I feel uncomfortable, but I'll be praying about it. I love you all and I'm praying for each and everyone of you! Letty

Hi Letty!! Glad to see you are starting to feel better. I'm feeling better everyday. I went to my doctor yesterday and had my drain removed. That felt weird. I am proud to announce I am down 16 pounds in 8 days!! Woohoo!! Anyway, without that drain I was able to get a restful nights sleep in my own bed. Nick took a picture of my incision, I put it on my profile today. It will give people a good comparsion between laproscopic and open RNY. QOD: 1. What is your opinion about people who "cheat" on their spouse? Letty, that show is one of my secret pleasures. I hate everything about it, but at the same time, I am glued to it. I think that it depends on the cir****tance. Obviously cheating is wrong is every form, but the decision that the person cheated on makes, can have different outcomes. I guess that part is based on if they are married, or if they have children. 2. Do you have a childhood "best friend"? If so, who is he/she? Yes, her name is Darlin. We became friends at the age of 3 in sunday school. We are still friends today. We have been there for eachother through everything you can imagine. 3.What is your prayer request today? Everytime this question is asked, I always say the same thing, God's will. love ya girl, Dawn

Hi Letty, glad you realized what was causing your back pain! Hope it gets better soon. 1. I have never seen this tv show you mentioned. Does not look like one I would care to watch. Your question about spouses who cheat is tough. Obviously "cheating" is never right but everyones situation is so different. People who have a pattern of this type of behavior are the ones I would say that could not be trusted in any way. If they make a habit of breaking their wedding vows then what would they not be willing to do?? 2. My best friend from school days married my cousin so we are not only still friends--we are relatives 3. My prayer request today is for my darling sister in law who had surgery yesterday (hysterectomy and bladder suspension). She was miserable and nauseated yesterday. Please say a prayer that she will fell lots better today.

Hi Letty and all the rest of you dear brothers and sisters in Christ! I answered Ken's post on how I'm doing. I'm doing well! Thank you, Lord! I spent another fairly restful night in bed, so that's 4 in a row! I am still below the 200 lb mark, so another praise! I love coming to this board and praying with and for you. I'm going to church tonight for our dinner there. I'm also going over this afternoon to see our grandsons. They live just 5 minutes from our home. What a blessing! Here are my answers to the QOD. By the way, I'm so glad that you are back on the Board, Letty. I missed you! I'm praying for your back pain that you will be delivered from it. 1. What is your opinion about people who "cheat" on their spouse? I can't even imagine. So much destruction to many lives. 2. Do you have a childhood "best friend"? If so, who is he/she? My sister, Patty. She is a little less than 1 1/2 years older than me. 3. What is your prayer request today? I think I'm going to copy Dawn's answer and say God's will in my life. Girl, I know what you mean about not feeling comfortable in your job. Mine is getting better, little by little. 1) What is your opinion about people who "cheat" on their spouse? Well, that is kind of close to home. My wife and I, both have cheated on each other. It was a time in our lives when we didn't have God in our lives. I was working long hours and she was home alone alot. I know that work is no excuse, but the lack of God is the reason. It is sad, very sad. Now that we have God in our family, we are stronger then ever. 2. Do you have a childhood "best friend"? If so, who is he/she? Yes and his name is Lester. We have been friends since the first grade. We have been introuble together and we have been drunk together and we both have survived it together. I was there when his father and brother died and he was there when my mother died. He is my brother, my friend, and my best friend. Sometimes it may be months till we talk, but he knows that I will be there in a second if he needs me and the same goes for me. 3. What is your prayer request today? My prayer request is that we all learn to true meaning of love. Love as Jesus knows it.Agape Love. How awesome that would be!!!! Ken

Hi Letty, Thank you so much for the wonderful email - totally made my day! I am excited that you are getting hooked up at home! Now you will be able to talk to us at all hours! Yay!! I am praying about your back - I'm sorry that you are hurting! The back can be such a sensitive part of our bodies - one wrong move and wham - pain. When I was skiing Monday night, a snowboarder accidently ran straight into me and really knocked me down. While I was laying there I was wondering if I was going to be ok. She kept apologizing and I told her I was fine. Then I got up and I was ok but I was worried about the next day but thank the Lord no pain. I hope you will heal up soon Letty - please rest your back. It is interesting how backs can start hurting days after an accident and then you have to try and remember what you did! Answers: 1. What is your opinion about people who "cheat" on their spouse? I really get upset when I hear about spouses cheating. But Ken's post was very encouraging because with Jesus healing can happen. We are fallen humanity saved by grace and we are capable of horrible sin - thank the Lord we have Jesus to lift us up when we are weak. 2. Do you have a childhood "best friend"? If so, who is he/she? Yes, my sweet cousin Patty. We grew up together and went through school together. We both now homeschool and she has been so encouraging to me. I love her very much. 3. What is your prayer request today? That God will meet us all at our greatest need and like Dawn said that His will be done. Question 1. got me thinking about how blessed we are to have a Savior that is strong when we can't be and helps us to resist the enemy and forgives us when we mess up. Good Afternoon Everyone!! Letty thank you so much for starting Roll Call this morning. I finally had a chance to sit down and catch up. Letty, I hope that everything at work is going ok. God will see you through this as He did with your back. I am glad that you know what the problem is that you can now work on getting better. Dawn, it is great to hear from you, I am glad that you are doing well. Peg, I didn't get a chance to congratulate you on your WOW moment. I can't wait to be able to look down at that scale and see Onederland...God is so good, he knows that you are now ready for the next part of your journey, I think that is why you kept stalling. Also congrats on being able to sleep in your own bed again. Lynda, Happy Belated Birthday!! I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday yesterday but wasn't able to get on here long enough to do so. I hope that it was one of the best ones yet (I know that there are even better ones yet to come!). Everyone else that I forgot to send a personal message too, I hope that you are having a wonderful blessed day, I am thinking about all of you and praying for each and everyone of you. QOD- 1)Cheating...funny, my DH and I are always talking about how we feel about that. We both would never cheat on each other, not just because we know that it is wrong, but we both respect each other too much to do so. We love each other the way God loves the church. We are his temples. But, as Ken said, God is there to forgive us when do wrong, and knowing that fills my heart no matter what I have done. 2)Friend...well, I really don't have any childhood friends. But, I do have a lot of really close friends now. My DH and I are the best of friends and I am happy that I was able to meet him, thank you Lord!! 3)Prayers, God's will is always something that I pray about. I feel that there are days that I am fighting against His will and if I would just be quiet and listen that He would make it all right. Well, off to the gym. Hello Letty and All! It's good to see you all. As much as I don't want to, I guess I'll hit the QOD. 1. Cheaters - Ouch! Guilty. I cheated on my first husband and we were both Christians at the time. It is something I will regret for the rest of my life. I am not going to make excuses about why I did it. It was just a horrible sin which I have repented of. So...what do I think about cheaters? I think they are sinners just like all of us who need God's love and forgiveness. 2. Childhood best friends - My family moved around a lot while I was growing up. I did have a best friend as a teenager but it was a very unhealthy relationship for me and we no longer see each other. However, I do have a wonderful best friend now that I found when I first joined the police department. We have been best friends for 11 years now and it is very healthy! We are even promoting together now. We just got the final list for the sergeant's exam and assessment center. She is #26 and I am #31! We are so excited! 3. My prayer request for today - God has since blessed me with another husband since my sin with my first husband. Now that is grace! My prayer request is for him and us. He suffers from depression and it is hard on the whole family. He has been in therapy and on medication for about a year and a half now but it only seems to help so much. While he is not suicidal now, he is also not happy and it takes its toll on our whole family. My prayer is for healing and happiness for him and our family. I hope everyone has a great day!
