I'm back

Well, I'm back. I had my breast aug/arm lift on 1/25. Everything went great per my husband and ps. I was kinda out of it for the first day or so. Meperghan is great to help you sleep, didn't help the pain that much even w/ extra strength tylenol in between. Friday night I noticed my knee was red & swollen (ODD???) I woke up a 4 am and it was still red,warm & swollen, so my husband took me to the ER and after being a pin cushion (they couldn't find any good veins to get blood) my blood work came back great, no infection, no blod clot. My ps came in and admitted me to get IV antibiotics and I finally got home late Sunday. My medical doc also came in and was a little confused too, they both said that since they worked on my arms, they had to put an IV in my foot during surgery and the compression leg things could have made the demerol & phenergan pool at my knee (weird) Anyway, I feel great to go back to work but my ps said to take it easy for another day. When I went for my dressing change on Thurs & Fri, he was so impressed with how much skin he got off my arms and I have no brusing on my arms or breasts. I have about 75-100 staples in each arm and he doesn't think I need to wear compressions because he doesn't want me to swell. I'm not in pain I just itch because of the dressing and chest binder (which is just ace wrap & gauze). My husband is so sweet, because I couldn't take a shower & my hair was horrible. He got the beach chair & put it in the bathroom made me lean back & washed my hair. It feels sooo much better. Anyway, I know I am rambling, thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. Georgina, I'm glad to know you are doing good. When you started describing the red, warm and swollen, it made me worry that it was a blood clot. I'm glad to know they took good care of you and that it wasn't a blood clot. I really wish I could afford to have PS but just can not. I don't have any problems with rashes or anything so I'm sure insurance will not pay for it. Maybe some day we'll have the extra money. Anyway, I'm glad to know you are okay. God bless!! Shel

Sounds like the surgery went well and you are recovering. Hope this phase goes really good for you and that the surgery brings about the changes you hope for. I suppose you must be at or near goal to be having the plastics done. congratulations!
