Huacuz in Mexico info?

There is someone on the revision board looking at Huacuz in Mexico for a revision, but I think I recall hearing horrible things about him.

I don't want to spread dirt about him if it's untrue, but if it is she should be aware. If you know about the Huacuz stuff, would you mind giving her a heads up? thanks

Thank you for posting to her. I just didn't remember the Juacuz details, just his name accompanied with a feeling of terror, lol.

Something that scares me is that one of the girls in or support group, Larissa, is going down in a couple of weeks to have surgery with him. I thought I recognized this doctor's name from a botched surgery last summer.  Have you shared the links about him with her?

I just saw that Larissa was going to him last night. I'm so nervous and scared for her! I commented on her blog about going to him, but I don't think it's going to change her mind. She knows about what has been said about him.

I'm going in with my eyes wide open, true. I promise I will not "advertise" for him or do anything but give my honest experience.

My experience so far with Dr Huacuz and his assistant, Eureta, has been excellent but I will certainly refrain from any recommendations until I've had my full experience.

I know it's not a popular view, but almost every negative thing I've read about him on the boards here and other places were all heresay "I know someone who is a friend of someone I know that had this horrible experience" and I have not seen anything direct from an affected patient. (Unless I missed it, but I read every thread everyone sent me in their concern.)

I'm doing a full blog documenting every minute with pictures so the mystery of Dr Huacuz can be revealed.

I am just concerned. I read a couple of blogs that were from actual patients with severe complications. I seem to remember a gentleman who passed away last summer after having the DS with this particular surgeon. I pray that everything will go textbook for you. Although, you shouldn't be surprised in this small group for people to be concerned for your safety.

 That's funny ..       I was just PMIng a fellow member earlier today about him, and noting to them how you notice you don't see Dr. H's ads on OH anymore (he used to have that banner one proclaiming himself to be "the only lap DS surgeon in Latin America"  ) ..   I notice his patients (either pro or con) have not been posting on here either in as long ..        I wonder if he has actively stopped doing the DS?   

Not only is he still recruiting DS patients, he's telling them bold faced lies about his experience and he's started his own "ds site" - something like duodenalswitchmexico.com Actually, he has a LOT of websites, which only shows how desperate he is to overcome his bad reputation. Good surgeons like Ungson and many of the Brazilian docs don't need a ton of websites to promote themselves.

This guy has told prospective patients that he's done over 300 lap DS's.. which is impossible given the length of time he's geen doing DS's. It takes more than 5 or 6 successful DS patients to say you're a DS surgeon. And by successful, I mean patients that survice without massive complications.

Huacuz should be in jail. There's no question in my mind.
