Have you guys seen the nordica single serve cottage cheese in stores? I just got a coupon for some from bzzagent.( A site im a member of who send me coupons for me to try stuff and tell people if i like it or not.) I love nordica cottage cheese (YAY PROTEIN) so im spreading the word about the single serving ones which would be right up our alley.

I investigated at the website and all the ones with fruit mixed in are too high in sugar for RNY peeps but would be fine for DS/lapband or VSG surgery people. (between 11 and 13 grams per serving) but the regular 1% is perfect for RNY'ers and i just thought that it might be a good suggestion for when we are on the go and need to still keep our protein up.

here is the nutritional breakdown from the website:

Nordica Single Serve Cottage Cheese 1% Plain
Per 113 g
  Amount % Daily Value
Calories 10
Fat 1 g 2%
Saturated 1.0 g 4%
+ Trans 0 g
Cholesterol 10 mg
Sodium 390 mg 16%
Carbohydrate 8 g 3%
Fibre 3 g 10%
Sugars 4 g
Protein 13 g
Vitamin A   2%
Vitamin C   2%
Calcium   10%
Iron   2%

I am definitely going to be picking some of these up. Im a cottage cheese-o-holic.

For more info on the fruit flavoured ones you can visit the website here.

Wendy one of my best friends (an RNYer here) eats the fruit ones and doesn't dump so you might want to give them a try.  Mind you it takes a lot to make her dump though it wasn't a pretty to sight to see her dump at Swiss Chalet with cheescake drenched in a ton of caramel sauce.

I dumped on the Strawberry one...so be careful.  But don't have a problem with the fieldberry one.

I tried the one with strawberry in it earlier this week and did NOT like it!  Found the taste was horrible .. I am going to try the plain though because my friend says that it is creamier!

Hey Poppy, how would I become a "Buzz Agent" for these products?  I love trying out new stuff, but I think it would also be a good way for me as a single Mom to save money on some groceries if they provide coupons/discounts.  Let me know thanks.
