Update on Porcy

Hi all,
Switched yesterday morning. Surgery took about 6 1/2 hours. I haven't seen Dr. Engstrand yet, he is making his rounds now, so should be in here by me soon. They told my parents I did really well. I asked them to let me walk a few times last night to get the gas bubbles moving, but no farts yet. I did just wash myself up and feel a lot better. Still NPO until Doc gets here (my throat is SO dry, ugh). They have me sitting up in a chair, but it's starting to hurt to do so. I think I will go back in bed after he leaves. So far very uneventful, so I'm glad...Thanks for your thoughts and prayers! Will update soon...

Welcome to the dark side, Porcy. Sounds like you're doing just fine. Rest and walk when you can. I hope they'll let you have liquids soon.

Thanks all!
The doc finally came in and looks like I will be having my upper GI tomorrow, so no liquids until then! That's ok, though, he said I look really good, so no worries! I like it here on the dark side...I am ready to be a loser! haha

Congratulations Porcy!  Great that everything seems to be going well and that you feel well enough to want to walk and freshen up, not to mention posting so soon.

Keep us updated on your progress.  We will be thinking of you.

Hurray! Another Dr. E DS'er! So glad to hear things went well for you. Welcome to the Dark Side, baby!

Keep walking and sipping (when you finally get to). When do you think you'll get to go home?

Take care,
Jules

After surgery they let me rinse my mouth with water, but not swallow. It really help the dry mouth.

Everytime I walked down the hall, I felt better, so walk as much as you can. I walked every 2 hours.

Good Luck! I was amazed at how quickly I felt better, so hopefully you will also have a great recovery.  Good Luck!
